Question about Frigidaire PLEF398AC Electric Kitchen Range
When i turn my range setting to Clean, then press 2 for 2 hours the CLN comes on and the door locks and a couple of minutes later the F9 message comes and and there's a beep and it goes back to the clock and the door unlocks...you can feel a little heat in the oven...but it doesn't continue...i shut the power off for one hour hoping it would re program but no luck...
The F9 code indicates there is a problem with the door lock.
Try disconnecting the power to the range for 10 seconds and reconnecting. Open the oven door and hold the door switch plunger in while you try these things. Put the control into clean for 5 minutes then cancel clean. You must hold the door switch plunger in for the 5 minutes.
Try canceling the clean cycle without putting the control into clean.

Hi Carol Moore, thanks for your inquiry!
From the information you have provided you need assistance using the self-clean feature on your Frigidaire range. Here are some basic steps to starting your self-clean:
1. Remove the racks within your oven.
2. Press Clean.
3. Use the "Up" or "Down" arrows to pick a three or two hour cycle.
4. You should then see a "CLn" on the panel. The door will lock and cleaning will begin.
I hope this information is helpful. -Matt

Hello LaRetta Madsen, thanks for your inquiry!
I see your question is labeled under model GLEFZ384GC. On that model range in order to use self-clean you would need to remove all the racks from the oven. Then you would press "Speed Clean" for a two hour clean or "Clean" for a three hour clean. You would then use the "Up" or "Down" arrows to select the time. After these steps the display should read "Lock" then "CLn" and it would now be in self-cleaning mode. I have included a link for your manual if further assistance is needed. Hope this information is helpful. -Matt

Hello - Before using the self-cleaning cycle of the appliance, remove the broiler pan and any utensils stored in the appliance. Also remove any excess spillovers in the oven cavity. Allow the oven to cool before cleaning. During the self-cleaning cycle, the outside of the wall oven can become very hot to the touch.
Typically to set the controls for a self-clean the first step is to confirm that the clock shows the correct time of the day. Press CLEAN. "---" appears in the display. Press the UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW once. "3:00" appears in the display for a 3 hour cycle. To change to a 2 hour cycle press DOWN ARROW"2:00" appears in the display. As soon as the controls are set, the motor drive lock will begin to close automatically and the "LOCK" indicator light will flash. DO NOT open the oven door while the light is flashing (it takes about 15 seconds for the over door to lock). "CLn" will appear in the display during the Self-Clean cycle and the "LOCK" light will glow until the Self-Cleaning cycle is complete or cancelled and the oven temperature has cooled.
When the Self-Clean cycle has completed, the time of the day or "End" will appear in the display window and the "Clean" and "LOCK" light will continue to glow. Once the over has cooled down for about 1 HOUR and the "LOCK" light has gone out, the oven door can be opened. If "End" is the display and the Clean indicator light remains ON, press CLEAR/OFF. The time of the day will appear in the display.
If it becomes necessary to stop or interrupt a Self-Cleaning cycle, press CLEAR/OFF. Once the oven has cooled down for about 1 HOUR and the "LOCK" light has gone out, the oven door can be opened. Restart the Self-Clean cycle once all conditions have been corrected.
