GE Adora Side by Side Loose Handle

The refrigerator door handle is getting loose. Can anyone tell me how to tighten the bolt....thru the handle cover or do I have to go thru the inside of the door?

Thanks.

My door handle is loose and I don't see how to tighten it. My appliance is only 2 years old and is not abused.

Do the covers pop off to tighten screws on the handles

The bottom & top of door handles have pop off covers. Carefully use a utility knife to pry off the cover on handles.

The cover plate comes off to exposed the screw that needs tightening. My husband just fixed ours as I was looking up how to fix it.

Loose handle on door

The door handles mount on hex bolts sticking out of the door, the door handles have key hole inserts that match with the bolts. The door handles are then slid in one direction to lock the handles in place. Removal is the reverse. To tighten the door handle screw the bolt out enough that you can still put the handle over the bolt heads and slide the handle to lock the handle in place.

Loose door handle

I just FINALLY fixed mine...  Popped little cover pieces off top and bottom of handle with a plastic bread bag tag slid along space created by loose handle (did not scratch finish on door).  That exposed the screws which could be tightened with a phillips screw driver; the cover pieces then snap back on the ends of the handle.

Door handle is loose on model#gsh22jftacc. how do you tighten?

If it's the same as the one we have (which is similar to the pic posted on yours) there's a plastic piece on the top and bottom of the handle that you have to pry up (gently) to get to them.
It looks like a line that runs horizontal across the handle, but it should come up with a little force (meaning it shouldn't require tools). You have to pry it from the side, not the top or bottom.

Loose door handle GE two door freezer/frig model TFG 22JADAWW

Called and watched mechanic who clipped of top and bottom covers with a screw driver then tightened both screws and replaced covers. Cost was $100 but I could have wrecked the door. Needs a special little star shaped screw driver head with ratchet fitting. Now equipped for next time.

Door handle loose on Model GSS25WGTA

There is a cover that runs up and down the door. This cover is removed simply by using a thin screw driver and peeling it off. You will find the Bolts under this cover. BE CAREFUL not to over tighten the bolts..

Good Luck

try removing the handle, that will expose the mounts for the handle. You should be able to tighten them after removing the handle.
