Simple. You go to the Asus
web site, click on the support tab, search for the P4R800-VM motherboard, find the driver for 7 (if there is one) and click the download. You knew this all along now, didn't you. It probably didn't work and you are wondering what you did wrong. I don't know what you did wrong, if anything. I will tell you, as a volunteer working from my home, just like the thousands of others here who do the same at FixYa
.com, I see driver questions concerning a new computer or a new upgrade to Windows7 every day. I have probably responded to 20 Windows 7 driver question issues today alone(when I should actually be cleaning the garage!).
This is what I have to say about that: Have you checked the Microsoft compatibility
list? Find it here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/default.aspx
You go check it now - no - really - you go and check it right now. Open another window, copy and paste the address into your browser and look for your device. If it is listed, you will find additional instructions there. FOLLOW THEM. Microsoft will actually give you active links for drivers or the manufacturer or to the vase MS KB (knowledge base) where you can find more information.
There is that possibility you will have to upgrade your sound device. If that is the case PLEASE do so under the gujidelines I have outlined for you above. And now, since you are the new "go to guy or girl" for computer questions in your family, tell them the same. Knowledge is power, spread it around. When they know more, you get to know more.
My friend, trust yourself - do the research and forge ahead. Thanks for your question
