Question about Washing Machines
We love our LG front loader, however it smells and the gray rubber ring looks stained with mold. Also, water stays trapped under the ring. I clean it after each use and leave the door open so that it dries out. I've run clorox through the system and sprayed every product known to man on inside the machine, but this only mask the odor for a short while. It's driving me crazy and making my laundry room smell bad. Any ideas? There is no solution to this problem. I might add, the mold that develops is a serious issue for asthmatics. I've had over seven calls in three years. GE refuses to stand by their warranty as do LG and the store I purchased it from. Many front loaders have this problem which is why that stopped making them when they were popular years ago. It didn't work then and it doesn't work now.
They offer some great products on smellywasher.com. Also, if you keep the dispenser door open about a quarter of the way when not using the machine, this tends to help as well.
