CORCHO PROPANE INFARED WALL HEATER PROBLEM

Hi I have a Corcho CK-18 infared wall heater that has a problem, it worked fine last year but this year when I lit it only one side will heat up completely. it has 2 bricks in it, 1 is small and the other is large, the small one will turn bright orange like it is suppose to but the large side will only get about a 3rd as bright, I have taken it apart and made sure that the pipes and orfices to the bottom part was clear, could it be a control valve problem or could it be something else, any help would be very grateful, thanks Terry

SOURCE: can not get the bricks to light on my empire corcho

I have the same htr in Mich. & have worked on gas htrs.for many years.
Does the flame go out when you let go of the button to lite it?
If it does, then the thermocouple is bad.

If the flame stays on, but goes out when you turn the dial,
the gas regulator is bad.

Probably a little more expensive to buy new then to fix it.

Michael.

Wall heater not working properly--sputtering blue flame

Ok, either your fuel pressure is too low or too high.. When you light the unit, Light it in low, then turn it up slowly Just crack open your tank valve.about1/4 turn. The air in the tubes has to be displaced with gas before you get a good flame

LOL.... your fuel is not boiling.... the closer propane gets to its vaporization point (-44%F) the less vapor it produces. clean the snow off of the 100# or lay it on its side to give it more surface area for vaporization.

Inefficient (big, yellow flame) on wall propane heater, using up propane too fast

A clue to what could be wrong is that you mentioned it took 10 minutes for the pilot to go out. It could be your gas valve. Get a technician in to check your gas pressure both before the gas valve and after. Have them check it as the water heater is running.
