Question about Fuji FinePix S3000 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Goes on and off just as quickly

The first issue was "card not initialized" so I formated the memory card. Now it turns on and goes off as quickly and it has new batteries. There is nothing in the owner's manual that has been helpful.

Memory card in a locked condition, the data can be saved. There are two ways you can do:
1. Use the data recovery software (must be software full version). How: insert memory card, run the data recovery process, select the drive memory card, etc. Save the file to your hard drive recovery. After the data saved, memory card format (quick format), then restore the data into the memory card.

2. Quick format memory card, and do the data recovery process. So that data can be saved, do not do a full format, but do a quick format. Tools such as hard drives, flash drives, memory cards, when done quick format, data can be saved.

I have not used my Fuji Finepix 6800Zoom for many months so I charged it up and now when I turn it on 'ERR CARD' is displayed in the round screen. If I press Menu and then Back !card not...

May be you inserted a memory card formatted with your PC. Format the memory card using the Format function in the camera menu. Format function can be found in the setup menu of the camera.
If this does not work, try replacing the memory card.

My camera says that there is a card read error and to insert a memory card why does this happen when i have a memory card in it?

This may happen if the Memory Stick is formatted in the Computer.

You may try formatting the Memory Stick in the Camera itself by using the FORMAT option in it.
If the issue persists even after formatting the Memory Stick in the Camera, then check whether a different Memory Stick works in the Camera.
If the other one works in your Camera then it must be the issue with the previous Memory Stick.

If the Camera does not work with a new Memory Stick, then you may try initializing it to check whether it resolves the issue.

Initialize option can be found in Menu items in the Camera.

If that does not resolve the issue, you may try removing the battery of the Camera for atleast one minute.
This should resolve the issue.

Canon Legria HF200 SDHC Initialization problem

This totally sucks. I have a similar issue with my Canon Vixia HF R20 and I'm using a Lexar Pro 64Gb 133x SDXC card. When trying to initialize the card, its fails and says "Process terminated with error." It also says "check the memory card" when I first put it in. Write-protect is off. My other SanDisk class 4 SDHC card seems to work ok.
I could have sworn it worked before and I was able to transfer videos to my Mac on 10.6, but I can't remember for sure if I was using the SDXC card or just the built-in memory. Very frustrating.

Can't take pictures due to memory card issue.

Try using a separate card reader to download your pictures. Then, format the card in the camera to initialize it.

Lock/read only card message

Make sure all the files from the memory card have been downloaded and saved to the computer. You are going to need to format the memory card to remove the write protect/read only/lock issue. By formatting this will permanently erase all data from the memory card so you are able to use it again.
To format the card: go to Menu - to Submenu - to Format option - Start - then Start again - Press Menu to initiate the process - When done the recorder will be able to be used for recording purposes again.

Initializing of xD-Picture card

The S3000 has a 512MB limit according to Fuji. Ther is also no firmware upgrade to address this issue. However I loaded a 1GB Olympus M type card into th S3000, which was pre-fornatted and worked straight away. After putting the card into the reader in my laptop, and then returning to the camera, the camera identified the card as not initialized. I tried to format the card in the camera but this didn't work.

To fix this I connected the camera to the computer using the USB cable located the camera card via My Computer, left clicked on and did a quick format in FAT (FAT16). After this the camera read the card and indicated 1305 frames available at 3M.
