Question about LG RU-52SZ51D 52" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

1 Answer

Unwanted pop-ups The "Main Channel Display" appears frequently without any action from the user. The display will appear to swithch between "MONO" and "STEREO" and then disappear, as if the system was searching for a sound source. The appearance of the display does not appear to follow any pattern. It will appear sereral times during some programs/channels and other times will not appear at all. The only information from the Troubleshooting Guide talks about the Caption option and I have already made that adjustment.

Re: Unwanted pop-ups

The input source such as the cable or satalitte signal my be a bit weak or the set may have a problem with the streo sensitivity. This is not an adjustment that a consumer can do. Have the cable checked out also. Goood Luck

Unwanted text on screen

You sure the graphics are being produced by the TV? If you are using a cable box, it may be coming from there. The other pssibility is a stuck button on the front panel. That can cause displays to come up without warning and won't go away until you get the button unstuck. Try wiggling all the front panel buttons.

Menu will not display

If the channel and volume visual display was not set up on the menu to display on screen , neither will show up even if either the remote or set front button are used. Make sure that the tv button is selected on the remote to access the menu .If that does not work ,then either the batteries are dead or the remote is dead.If it is you will need a new remote, sadly. Then you can press the m button , select sound and then select "display volume" and check "during adjustment". The channel display settings are found on "features" from the main menu. Hope this helps.
