oh yea i already updated the bios, and once i was able to boot to windows, with 1 RAM installed, but then tried installing the second one and it didnt work, and since then i cant even make 1 work.

well first off,i bought em for my computer, which runs on a maximus formula, but, that motherboard has problems running 4 ram sticks. so i wanted to sell them to my girlfriend, but unfortunatly she her MB supports only 667 DDR2. i'll try booting with no memory. and here's what it says oon the sticker:

    2-1GB 240-pin unbuff DIMM 128MX64DDR2 PC2-8500 CL5 EPP

Your motherboard supports DDRII 667/533/400 and DDR400

1066 is not supported, I have never tried to use a unsupported memory speed on a motherboard so I don't know, I know you lowered it to 667 but still the ddr2 which you have bought is not supported by default.

why buy too fast memory?

try removeing both of the memorys then boot up without any ram, it will beep, then insert the other one, try if it starts up.

and ofcourse turn the power off in the middle of these changes.

can you post the details of your memory? I think im onto something..

so hows it going I see I got a Thanks for trying rating?

The thing is you have a memory that best works at 1066 and you are trying to run it on 667 you can't blame me for this hardware issue.. can you change the rating? you have to get memory that runs on 667 and it will work properly.

That is an Asrock board and Yes, any standard hard drive will work with it. The reasons for your problem in descending liklihood:
>Your connection is incorrect or a bad cable.
>If you have an operating system, there is a corruption/problem with it.
>The hard drive has failed
>Drive is not activated; enter Disk Manager and activate it.

Sounds like a video driver issue. Try this: Reboot the system and press the f8 key before it loads windows and select vga mode. Once you do this try reinstalling your driver for your vga adapter. Good luck and let me know how it went.

Hello can i connect 2 fans to the motherboard? 1 is at the rear,,can the other 1 go anywhere else with 3 pin connectivity??

Hi, this link will show you the manual to your Motherboard, Page 12 section 1.4 Motherboard Layout. this page will show the layout and you may need to zoom in to see it clearer, there is No.5 CPU Fan Connector (CPU_FAN1) next to the CPU slot and there only seems to be 1 more Fan connection No.15 Chassis Fan Connector (CHA_FAN1), this seems to be the only additional fan connection, normally you would connect a side door/panel fan, the rear fan connections direct to the PSU.

775Dual-880 Pro cannot detect SATA HDD 320gb

if you bought this board brand new, take it back and tell them the sata controllers in the bois are not sufficent and get one that is. If you got it second hand then you will need to update or flash the bios to the latest version. see if that works and the drive is recognised. if it is recognised via flash/update you may still run into problems if you try to install XP
good luck and regards

Adding memory and bios upgrading

hey man, I checked the asrock website

Support DDR-II 667/533/400,
If your going to keep the 533mhz memory in your pc, then I recommend you get another 533mhz, becouse if you get a 667mhz the 667 will run as 533mhz becouse the 533mhz memory is slowing it down.

If you need more assistance let me know, I'm here to help
