I too have used the wrong charger (6v vs 5v) on my iriver 140 gb, and now it doesn't turn on.
I was wondering if anyone knew any repair stores in London, England that repair Irivers...no luck trying to find on google.

Someone asked me to fix one, but the charger was wrong. I found you can use a replacement charger from RadioShack (I happened to have one), It has replacable 'tips' that plug into the Delstar DS700 netbook. If you get one, watch the polarity, and the charger needs to be set for 5V DC, and it must be able to deliver AT LEAST 2A (or 2000mA).
The charger someone gave me for it was a 6V 500mA (or 0.5A), and it wouldn't even charge the battery.

I have found the solution
You can use Fly mobile V 60
It cost Rs,281/-only
One more thing You can use any Charger Which has 5V 200mA
With Mini USB connecter
But never use 5V 500mA Charger. It may damage your MP3
It is not safe for Transcend MP3/4Player
Second thing you can charge any Mp3 Player with Fly V 60
Mobile phone Charger.
Because Its specification are 6V 300mA.
try this. the iriver doesn't boot at times ( wrong charger or using the right charger abroad), unlatch the battery and hold down the power button for about 20 seconds. also reset the instrument. hopefully that might work for you.
You can get a replecement on Ebay or at Maplins the spec is
In: 100-240V~50-60Hz 360mA Out: 5V~2A
be careful I once fried an IHP-120 by using the wrong charger. I replaced the battery but taht wasn't the issue. I had it replaced with a IHP-140 and now my old charger has gone too. I got a replacement through the company I bought it from but they have none left.
when i turn on my Iriver PMP-140 it comes up with a message reading Boot Failure System file has an error. To solve the problem, connect the device to computor. (refer to 'trouble shooting' on the manuel) Filmware Ver. 1.24 I dont have a manual though.
no as long the player is not damage you can still match the voltage because the 12v is not going to turn on or work properly on the h320 because the voltage is not right. Unless if you have a closer voltage like 4.5v or 5.2 v it will be good it will work.
Example:When i bought my pda it did not come with adapter so they gave me an alternative adapter is supposed to 5v but they gave me 6v to try out first it work then second try i turn my pda using the ac it have problem with voltage because is too high than 5v. The next thing i did is buy another adapter good thing i found closer to 5v which is 5.2v which is it work.....now by pda work..properly and i can charge it properly too.. well it takes sometime to look around the shop until it can be found the right adapter....
Well i used the USB to AC adapter 5.2v...it work great... for mp3 player like h320,pda........
Open the player and test for battery's voltage. In case of a low voltage measurement, you should replace the battery.I don't want to be cruel with you but, maybe that the player power circuit was damaged as well, and in this case it should be repaired by a certified technician (I realy hope for you that this is not the situation).
Good luck !!!
