Question about Canon PIXMA MP830 All-In-One InkJet Printer
Cartridge No.5 ran out. Took it out and turned machine off while I went to get a new one. When machine was turned back on the rest of the cartridges will not return to the centre to allow the insertion of the new. I just keep getting a message saying Error Code 5100. It is a brand new machine and I am not very clued up on its workings so need some help please. Barbara-g
Hi You can Try
Ok it got to be cleaned
Error Code 5100
Clean the timing strip.
The purge cap (the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it's not in use) may be not lubricated well enough .
Lubricate the sliders with some white grease (don't get it on the small wipers or the black caps); this repair probably require to remove the right panel off of the printer to gain access to the purge mechanism.
