Question about Brother MFC-9420CN All-In-One Laser Printer

Brother MFC-9420CN Transfer Roller

When I removed the transfer roller, a small stainless steel clip came out with it and I am not sure where to replace it. The clip has a 90 degree shape, the upright portion has a square top with a hole in the center, while the horizontal piece has two arms that appear to fit around something as they slightly bevel out. Also on the upright piece, there is slight bend so that the square piece sits slightly forward of the rest of the clip. I hope this makes sense and you can tell me where it should be replaced. BTW, when I reinstall the TR roller it still says no TR roller installed.

Lexmark Optra C710 keeps on having paper jams

Make sure the rear door is properly seated on it's hinges. Also look for any burs in the plastic guides that the paper might be catching. If you see any burs, try to smooth them out with a nail file or something.

064 code

E064 is indicated on the control panel. The error description is: The presence of a high voltage error is communicated by the composite power supply. The output for primary charging, developing, or transfer has deviated from a specific level of voltage.

* Adjustments in Service Mode are Incorrect
* Transport Assembly is Not Engaging Properly
* Dirty HVT Contacts for Developing Assembly and Charging Rollers
* A Paper Clip on HVT Contacts or Developing Assembly
* Faulty Transfer Roller
* Faulty Static Charge Eliminator
* Defective Composite Power Supply
* Defective DC Controller PCB Assembly

1. Check the values in Service Mode and make sure they correspond to the Service
Label. If the copier receives a spike or surge through the 240V line these values can change (can also give you blank copies). Take particular note of the Dev Bias
2. Make sure the Transport Assembly is engaging properly. The Transfer Roller should
make good contact with the drum. Check condition of screw (XB6-7501-007) and
Pressure Plates (FB5-4816-000 & FB5-4817-000) for the Transport Assembly.
3. Clean HVT contacts for Primary/ Transfer Charging Rollers and Developing
Assembly. Inspect for any paper clips.
4. Replace the Transfer Roller (FF6-0104-000).
5. Replace the Static Charge Eliminator (FF5-7246-000).
6. Replace Composite Power Supply followed by DC Controller PCB Assembly

Error message: No TR Roller Install the transfer roller

This error has already been noticed by Brother and they have a fix for this issue. This message will appear on your Brother machine if the ground clip is not present on the Transfer Roller Assembly. The clip can become dislodged due to a paper jam or removal of the Transfer Roller assembly.

Pc load letter keeps showing up.

Most likely your paper tray feed roller is becoming worn or just dirty.
Remove the paper tray and lift up the front of the printer. On the left side in the port where the tray was you should see a half moon shaped rubber roller with what looks like tire tread on it. Look at the steel shaft that goes thru it. One the end is a small clip that is part of the roller. Lift up on the tab and pull the roller off the shaft. You can then scrub it with a cloth and some glass cleaner. To reinstall just snap it back on the way it came off and this should solve your issue. If you notice when you have the roller out that on one edge the tread is worn smooth then you may need to replace it.
Good Luck.

Magicolor 2400w gives paper jam error at transfer roller, after I cleaned the printer -laser head.

My 2400W was standing a long time without being used, and when I wanted to use it, it made a very faint image and showed "paper jam at transfer roller". Also, the image stayed on the transfer belt, but never got transferred to the paper. I tried a lot of things, nothing worked, but the message from weirdal1968 above pointed me in the right direction.

I eventually scratched / scrubbed / cleaned the copper pad on the left side of the optical imaging drum - this copper pad probably receives the bias voltage for the imaging drum from a springy stainless steel wire. There was some visible darkening of the copper pad where the stainless steel wire touched, this is what I cleaned. And then, presto, problem solved - the image came out great, and no more "paper jam at transfer roller" error message.

Very light printing

One thing you can do, and this part directly affects print darkness if bad, is to replace the Transfer Roller. It is a roller with a steel shaft, located beneath the toner cartridge, and it is part of the printer itself. easily removes if you pull up from one side it will come free of the plastic saddle clip, and the other end of the shaft is in a round hole slot. replacing this part with a new one will probably restore print darkness.
