Question about Panasonic KX-T7731 Corded Phone

VM PASSWORD I'm still having trouble with over riding the VM password for this phone. I have hit the vm button on the phone and hit *999 to log into the mailbox, then i press 6 1 3 and it doesnt do anything. Am i doing something wrong?

    Thats just the problem though, i dont know the password for mailbox 999 or the phone for the password im trying to reset.

    Ok, i have figured out the password. but when i press 6 then 1 then 3....nothing happens. The voice command continues as the '6' didnt activate anything and the '1' prompts to listen to the messages for mailbox 999. PLEASE HELP

Yes. Try #6 *999 and put in your password +# if it asks. Now you can select options 6 then 1 then 3.

    Yep. That *IS* a problem. Your Panasonic dealer can reset it with the help of Pana tech support and a remote access modem. Otherwise, you would have to initialize and reprogram the entire system. There is one other possibilitry, that is if your VM is a TVS, it may not have a password on the serial port and you or your dealer can log into it with the standard default password or no password at all..

    It isn't likely, but the System Manager's password *might* me be same as the message manager's. Go to whoever has the password for 998 and try it on 999.

    My particular brand of VM is a Panasonic TVS-50. It says that on the box. When I call it via 165, and go into mailbox 999 it give me 6 options. 1 is play messages, 2 is deliver, 3 is customize, 4 is mailbox distribution, 5 is system reports, and 6 is other features. The lady in the box plays that message at least twice.

    If you don't get that, or if your system is not a TVS, that could be something.

We need help with our Nortel system (T7316E). We don't know the admin password. We have tried Feature 985 and then it says to hit "9" but we can't do that as the display shows VM:363 and we can only hit...

feature 985 shows you your vm extension #.
feature 983 then try 1029999 (if password was changed to 9999 or something else)
or maybe feature 983 then 738662 'ok' then 266344 'ok'. depending on the norstar system you have.
these are some codes to enter the vm management. What are you trying to do, reset a vm password or other system programming?

I have a Toshiba DKT3210-SD. The person who set the voicemail security code no longer works here. I need to reset the security code. Can you help me?

call your voice mail and log into mailbox 999.(dial the pilot number possibly 555 or 850 then hit the star key when you hear the greeting) the default security code for mb 999 is 999997.
Hit option 8 then listen to the prompts you can reset just the password or the entire mailbox. the new default password will be the mailbox numbe followed by 997. Ex Mialbox 200 new password will be 200997

What happens when you dial 165? It's the access to the VM system if it's a Panasonic. The rest comes from knowing the password if it's set. That can be reset from the VM owner's mailbox 999.

Wow. This is a double question :-).

What does the clock on the PHONE say? The time is either gathered from the CID info sent to the phone from the carrier, or it's the time set in the VM system. Unfortunately, the "7431" is just a phone. It doesn't have any time in it, the time comes from the TD sytsem and the message time comes from the TVx voice mail system. Some VM's synchronize the time with the PBX and some don't, so you have to know which PBX and which VM system you have, then you need the version numbers.

Here's the deal. If the PBX display time is correct, log into the VM as the System Owner (999 mailbox) and verify the TIME. Unfortunately, the login and password is beyond the scope of the free forum as it's the master password to do serious damage to the entire voice mail. However, since you are 2 hours and 12 hours offset, I'm guessing that whoever set the time didn't do it correctly in the VM and it's an old TVS-100/200 box.

I forgot my vm password and cannot retrieve my messages on my Panasonic KX-T7720 phones. How do I reset the password??? I have a TWA848 phone system and TVA50 voice processor. thanks in advance.

Just hope the owner didn't forget the password to the sytsem manager's box (999). From that box, you can reset any user password. If you lose the passwords to MB 998 and/or 999, your installer/tech will have to give them to you again.

I have inherited a KX-T7633 and cannot access voice mail. the previous employee left the company. Can you help?

It depends on what you mean by "can't access". The Panasonic voice mail system is accessed by dialing the VM access code, sometimes 500 or 165, from the phone you want to use. If you, for example, are extension 105, and it has a voice mail box, the lady will either tell you how many messages you have, or ask for a password. If that's how you can't access VM because you don't have a password, then the password can be reset from mailbox 999, the system administrator's mailbox.

There are two passwords YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO HAVE. If you don't know the passwords to 998 and 999, then you will have to get them from the original installer, or call your Panasonic dealer. Alternatively, if you have the VM maintenance console password, you can reset 998 and 999's password.

Which phone? You can reset passwords from the VM Owner's mailbox, (999). If you don't have that password, then call your installer.

How to Change a Mailbox Password 1. To access the voice mail system press Feature.
2. Press 9 8 3.
3. When you see Log: enter ~ SETNNA (738662) and press OK
4. Pswd: CONFIG (266344)
5. Press "MBOX".
6. Press "CHNG".
7. Enter the mailbox number you wish to reset.
8. Press "Reset".
9. Press "Rls" to exit (orange button to the right of the number buttons).
Default password is "0000".

This will be an incomplete answer because you asked an incomplete question.

The first pat of your question involves access to the voice mail system. You can change it from a PC with software to access the system, or from the system manager's mailsbox (999). WHen the system was installed, you should have been given instructions and a password to that mailbox. You log into the manager's mailbox and select options 6 then 1 then 1 to edit or 3 to reset the password.
Easiest for you is to reset the password and make each mailbox owner do his own name, password, directory characters, and greetings.

There are at least 2 ways to get someone's call to voice mail. The first is by setting call forward at the phone. That's the *710x (VM) # that you dial from the intercom. My voice mail system is at ext 165, so I use *7104165# to send it to VM only when I don't answer. The 4th digit options are 2 for all calls, 3 for busy 4 for no answer, and 5 for busy/no answer. Once you set it, the FWD/DND button functions as a selector.

The second way is, if you know the person is not going to answer, you set up a VM Transfer button.
That's where you take a spare button of the 24, label it, and dial the following. PROG press the button 94 (VM) ENTER. Again, mine is 94165.

The 3rd way involves system programming and has to be set up by the system installer. It involves extension intercept and has timing parameters and destinations that need to be programmed.

If it's a Panasonic brand VM, you log in as administrator to mailbox 999. Option 6 1 3 allows you to reset a mailbox password.
