How do I take apart a beta52a?

Unscrew the grill and look for a plastic piece that holds the capsule in place. This plastic piece also can be unscrewed and will allow you to reach the PC board inside. Check for broken wiring (most common problem) but low output usually indicates a damaged mic capsule that must be replaced.

Hi, I'm trying to fit the polar pattern converter to my C1000S mic. I've removed the wire mesh part to reveal the shock mount and capsule but there seems to be a black plastic bit of a different shape...

Alan, the C1000s comes with 2 filters, and it sounds like one of them is already on the capsule. Yes you can remove the one already on. I find by gently twisting and pulling it comes off easily. The capsule is rubber mounted so it can take a little bit of pressure.

My D112 died midsession. Can it be reconditioned? Is it cheaper to fix or replace?

Being a dynamic microphone there is not much that can go wrong with it apart from:

  1. broken / detached wiring
  2. failed diaphragm capsule
before doing anything else check it isn't a cable fault.
AKG products normally have a 2 year warranty so if it's inside that time take t back for repair / replacement.
Otherwise a competent repairer ought to be able to fix it for you cheaper than replacement

No sound from my sm58 mic

The SM58 is a very rugged and reliable microphone and there are not many things to go wrong with it.
Assuming that you have tried using a different cable / amplifier to issolat ethe problem to teh microphone itself the most likely things are.
  1. A wire has come off inside - gently unscrew the top of the mic - lift it off carefully lift because the wires inside are quite short.
  2. A broken capsule - this usually results from dropping the mic on hard surfaces. Replacement capsules can be bought quite cheaply.Just tak careful note of the wiring order before disconnecting the old one.

most likely a loose connection inside suggest,
check battery is held tight in place, if not then it might be possible to very gently bend the battery terminals just enough to help the connection.
if not battery connections then its inside the mic could be the power or the capsule wiring, need a tech or the dealer to take a look

hope this helps
thanks for using FixYa

My akg perception 200 is not responding

Have you tried using a another XLR cable..,or are the other mics phantom powered try to locate if its a mic problem or the cable..2 other points are 1 - XLR leads for phantom mics need to be XLR to XLR male to Female plugs[ends] 2- is that often an XLR to XLR cable will be not soldered or wired right,so that the power [phantom power is not getting to the mic] so ensure you have a proper cable for that job...Sorry i can't be more specific but from reading your problem all these issues come to mind..If you have ruled all these things out, then it could be the capsule or loose joint or component in the mic which means contact AKG,pro audio services or find a DIY mic person to help..G luck!!

Akg c1000s replacement grille

Maybe you could find a local music store that repairs equipment to replace the grill. Sometimes you can find parts on websites like Ebay.

I have an AKG C3000B microphone. It got very quiet.

How to repair a C3000B with low output.

I had the same problem, and was able to repair it myself. i've seen several other posts with the same description, and if you can use a soldering iron, you're golden. I just now repaired mine, and it took less than 10 minutes. One of the leads going from the PCB board to the capsule was broken loose at the solder joint. Mine has been dropped, so no surprise. Somehow, if you boost the signal enough, you still get sound, where I would have expected silence.

You need a star bit set (I have a little mult-mini screwdriver set that has them stored in the handle from home depot.) There are two silver screws in the bottom lip. Remove these and the whole screen housing slides off. Even better, the capsule assembly slides out too. There are two prongs that plug into a harness when inserted.

There are two black wires from said prongs to capsule leads. See if one is loose. If so, solder that ***** back on and its as good as new, and hot signal.

You also need small plyers, someting to strip the small. I know this is a late post, but maybe it will elp somone. Good luck.

Mmmm... The wires and the assembly is broken?
Sounds like you might have a trashed mic.
You can try to find a Shure dealer or a good music store to have them take a look at it.
I would suggest getting a new mic cartridge.
If you're interested in selling it, contact me.

AKG C418 is not working!

it works its probably just that you dont have your drivers set up right same problem here with my usb mic you gotta go into sound and change the standard mic to the mic you want to use and if you have a web cam mic also hooked up you will want to disable web cam mic (not the web cam) in drivers these 2 mics are having conflict of interest
