Question about Computers & Internet
1. I have vista.
2. Linksys Router is 160 N is intsalled.
3. Linksys adapter for this N product can not connect to the router.
4. Microsoft windows communicates that it did not receive any response from the router.
Ok make sure the following is done:
Use the Linksys CD to do the network set up.
Set up the SSID in router settings.
Set up the admin password on the router.
Set up WEP encryption and an associated password.
Make sure in network settings that Vista networks type is set to 'Private'

If the normal reset does not work, try to press and hold the Reset button for three seconds. The Ethernet light should go OFF then back ON. Unplug and re-plug the router's power adapter while pressing the Reset button. Keep holding the reset until the power light stops blinking.
NOTE: The router must be powered ON when you press the Reset button.
To reset the router via its web-based setup page, follow the steps below.

When the router's web-based setup page appears, click Administration then click on Factory Defaults.

Click on Restore Factory Defaults and select Yes.

advisable to connect the computer to one of the Ethernet (1, 2, 3 or 4)
ports when setting up the router for the first time. If you have
successfully configured the router using a wireless computer, unplug the
Ethernet cable which connects the computer to the router for you to

Make sure the power adapter is plugged in to an available power outlet.
