Question about GE 26981GE3 Cordless Phone

Power but no tone.

I have 2 cordless phones: GE 26980GE1 and GE26921GE2. These 2 phones have the same problem. When I press "TALK", the LED(IN USE) turn on but I don't have the tone and I can't dial numbers!!! After few seconds the led turn off. Thanks for your help.

Remove the bateries this will shut down the unit and solve the problem.....good luck..

The phones won't ring. One is on "do not disturb" And i don't know how to take it off. The other set is in french . I would like it back to english

    Need help registering the GE additional cordless model 27911.


    I had the same problem but I fixed it by:

    1. Disconnect the battery on the handset.
    2. Wait 1 minute and reconnect.
    3. Register handset.

    Phone Not Working


    I have had the same problem before and now again for the last week...I finally remembered what I did last time to solve it!

    I put my "unavailable" Handset into the main cradle and left it there for a slow count of 20. That has reset the unavailable handset and returned the dial tone etc.

    Maddening isnt' it!

    Dial tone is OK, but can't dial out
    • Make sure the tone/pulse setting is programmed
    correctly.
    TONE/PULSE DIALING
    1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not in TALK mode).
    2. Use the CID/VOL left (-) or right (+) arrow button to
    scroll to 1TONE or 2PULSE, or use the touch tone
    pad on the handset to enter the desired setting. For
    example, to choose TONE dialing, press the number 1

    Switching from pulse to tone


    I think you would of already saw it if there is one but it should be on the side or bottom of the phone. Hope it Works
