Try removing the battery and put it back in after a minute or so.

My Sandisk Sansa e250r keeps freezing up....

I called sansa and got this info on how to format the sansa and restore it back to default
This helped me to detect the device and be able to put songs on it.

Turn off device
put hold key on
press and hold mic key while pluggin in the device to pc
open sansa icon in my computer
Up on top of my computer window click tools then folder options and click view tab then uncheck hide extension for known file types.
Now click file new and choose text document then change the name from New Text Document.txt to sansa.fmt and click enter. It will ask you if you want to change the extention and you need to click yes.
Now unplug your sansa from the pc and this will format your whole mp3 player.
You will lose all your date but your sansa will be detected and working.
Once it is done then turn off your device and plug it in while its off.
It should show up in my documents now. The first drive is your hd on the device and the second one is for the extra micro disk.

Oh and another tip is to click show hidden files so that you can see the music folder.
This way you can just drag and drop without having to use windows media player or Rhapsody.

Sansa e250 not working!

Try this;

Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted.

http://rapidshare.com/files/67740173/e200fw01.00.12.exe____

You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool.

- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds)
- Slide the hold switch into "hold" position.
- Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer.

Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted.
