Thlp5063w samsonoo dark, menu goes to tv but not to picture. can't adjust brightness

If you get a picture but its too dark, you are in need of a replacement lamp. On the left or right side of the TV you will find a orange sticker with black lettering with numbers like BP96- **** That will be your lamp part number. Once you have that number just do a google search for it and you will come up with many sources for it and varying prices. Just make sure you purchase the complete lamp as sone sell just the bulb, but that requires you to disasemble the lamp assembly and replace the bulb which is sensitive to fingerprints on it. Good luck : )

Distorted picture

Projection TV sets are known to have two common problems. The first problem that is common to these sets is convergence failure. When this happens the TV will usually look 3D, Wavy/Distorted, etc. It may also shutdown and blink an error code.

The second common problem with Projection TV sets is dull video, halos around objects, white looking video, or red overpowers the screen. This is commonly caused by the fluid in the lens being clouded overs. To get fixed either call in a local TV repair company or goto sites such as Tv Repair Kits to get a repair kit with instructions. Here is there link.

They have put together complete kits for most models that include the parts, step by step photo instructions, repair assistance, etc.

Phillips Magnavox 60in rear .....very hard to view can fix it and its not that hard but your not going to like the price of the fix. its time to purchase bulbs. as to how to do that on your particular tv you will have to search for that one on the web. sorry about the bad news. it would almost be cheaper to buy a whole new set.

Sony 57 inch WEGA Projection TV

Hi, this is a very common failure, you need to replace 2 IC chips on your power supply board, marked on the top of the IC`s is this number: MCZ3001D you can purchase them here if you are very proficient at soldering & un-soldering, and the board has to come out of the tv to do this, you might want to call a tv man for this one, but it will fix your set, happy holidays, BMW Rider

Sound, no picture

Sounds like you have a problem in the horizontal or verticle deflection circuits. maybe one of the regulators for those circuits. I would suggest getting the service manual so you are better equipped at diagnosing it. You can purchase the service manual at the following link for 10.99. Plus they will email it out to you quickly if you return to the site and request that they email it instead of mail it to you. Here is their link.

Picture surges

forget anything you ever told about this product if you unsolder the convergence ics stk pack and the tv stays on then just the beginning of your problems the vast majority of these tvs have burned fluid in the picture tubes and restoring the elctronics to working is time not well spent the panel for the deflection circuit ( in the middle)? would have to replaced if the tv does not power on
