I had an OBD Code 1340 after changing plugs. I found that the Coil for #1 is a different number than all of the rest It is labeled OJ01 The rest are labeled OF13.
When I put OJ01 in teh correct place #1 cylinder, the code went away

Hello,
A 1340 error code for your Isuzu Trooper means that the engine is experiencing a "Camshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction" which would mean the computer isn't exactly sure where the camshaft is located in it's rotation. If the issue is intermittent then look for a broken wire, if it's solid then the sensor needs replacing!
Good Luck & please rate this solution!

SOURCE: where is the egr valve for a 1999 isuzu trooper?

The EGR valve is a cylindrical unit above the engine. It would be behind the throttle body.
It will have a cable connected to it. Unplug the cable.
There two bolts. Simply remove.
An that is all there is to it.
Simply put the new EGR valve in its place, screw in the bolts and reconnect the cable.
Make sure to see a gasket. The gasket can stick to either the EGR valve or the throttle body. It does come off easily but since it is metallic, it looks like it part of the throttle/egr valve.

SOURCE: Oxygen Sensor on '99 Isuzu Trooper

The O2 sensor is on the engine side (up stream) before the catalytic converter in the exhaust pipe, it is barrel shaped about the size of a jumbo magic marker.

SOURCE: 2001 Rodeo rough idle in drive, and sometimes on the highway

Check the overdrive accumulator cover on the transmission for any leaks. This can cause some rough idle situations and minor slipping but if caught early enough isn't bad to fix.

SOURCE: How to clean EGR valve passages in 1993 Isuzu Trooper DOHC V6

You have to the EGR valve (sometimes the Intake manifold to EGR Vlalve line also). After you remove it take a drill bit the about 20 % smaller than the actual hole of the outlet side and rotate the drill bit with your hand to dig out the carbon. Aditionally the line coming from the intake manifold to the EGR valve will clog near the connection to the EGR valve. I use either a single piece of copper wire or the wire that you would use to tie ribar together to clean the line. When your done cleaning take a piece of vacuum line and connect it to the diaphram side and **** on it... then plug the line well with your thumb. Grasp the valve and blow thru it... Air should blow thru it freely. Remove your thumb from the vacuum line and try blowing again.. No air should pass thru the valve.
Then reinstall the valve and start the vehicle with the vacuum line disconnected (but blocked off) Use another piece of vacuum line connected to the diaphram again and **** on the line.. The vehicle should die or run really bad. If it does this then you cleaned it correctly.

I have 01 trooper replaced gas cap now check engine light off, but I have a p0300 code will it pass smog.?.

Many states will not pass a vehicle with a check engine light.

The P03000 code you have has little to do with the gas cap, rather it is a random misfire code. read more about this code and possible fixes in the link below. Good luck!

I have a 1991 Isuzu Trooper with the 4 cylinder. It runs good but has a rough idle. At speeds of 55 or greater, the "Check engine light will flash periodically. There are no codes to pull. I have...

check the EGR valve. it could have carbon buildup, preventing it to complete close. similar to a vacuum leak. you can removing it and try cleaning the pintal and seat. also check the vacuum hose at the EGR valve. there should be no vacuum at idle and low RPM.

2001 Isuzu Trooper PO405 code

The throttle body is coated with a sludge resistant material. If you cleaned it all out you are actually hurting your engines performance, because the throttle body resists sludge which in turn protects your throttle plate and bore. You may want to check your egr vacuum regulator, for the cause of your problem.

Have a code p0401 how do u fix it , I know it has something to do with the egr system but I,m not sure where its located on my trooper, engine size is 3.5 v6

I have a 2000 Isuzu Trooper that had a PO401 code that would reset and then 2 miles later the light was on again - I found if you remove the EGR valve and start the engine that the engine should idle rough - If it doesnt and you have vacumn at the intake port spray carb cleaner down the port slowly and see how long it takes for the engine to run rough - Keep spraying till the engine dies and spray some more down the passage and let the engine set for 5 minutes and then restart the engine - it will run rough at first but clear out - you should be able to feel the engine RPM change when you put your finger over the intake vaccumn port for the egr - If not then repeat the cleaning method again - If you do feel the rpm change then put the egr valve back on and clear the code and run your drive cycle to see if it is fixed.

Hi,
You might get some gas treatment for your tank. Sometimes bad gas can cause those symptoms.
I would put the treatment in and let it sit overnight. Hopefully the next morning the car will feel better!
I hope this helps... Good luck!
