Thank you very much for taking the time to respond. I will give it a try and let you know. Will a local repair shop be able to test the motor to see if it has failed?

  • scubasteve52 Oct 22, 2008

Yes, there was an error code 'LE' on the display. Serial number 604KW00705.

This repair has fallen in my lap, as the homeowner, because the service company that has the contract with the extended warranty company could not fix it. They(contracted company) replaced the wiring harness, the control panel and still receive the error code. The contacted service company deemed the unit not repairable and I got a check for a new dishwasher. I still can't believe that the motor is not to blame based on what I have read on the internet. Basically this thing is not going to beat me. I have my new dishwasher, I got my check from the warranty company and now I'm going to fix this machine. Oh, by the way I did get the pump out and am on my way to get it checked out.

If it is not the motor, then the lame service techs didn't replace the wiring harness properly. Who knows at this point. Thanks, again for your time and incredible service. This is a great resource!

Take the main wash arm off and the sump cover below it. Remove the part you'll find under that to gain access to the cutter blade attached to the end of the motor shaft. Remove blade but note that this is a LEFT HAND SCREW. Now lay dishwasher on it's side and remove screws and electrical plug to motor. Reverse procedure to install new motor. It's not really very difficult.

Local repair shop should be able to test resistance of motor, but you didn't say why you wanted to replace the motor. Motor not running? Error code? Noisy? Other? Also, could you list the first three digits of your serial number?

Your dishwasher may have a problem with the door insulation which can cause the LE error code. The serial number indicates that the insulation used in your dishwasher may soften, allowing the wires to become embedded in the black mastic insulating material and dissolve the insulation on some of the wires inside the door. Newer models are using a different insulation. Take the door apart and look to see if the wires are embedded in the black mastic insulation. The fix is to replace the door panel and wiring harness, which is not cheap or real easy, but you can just splice in new wires and put some thing in to keep the wires from contacting the black mastic on the door panel. The motor may be just fine. I've seen LE and other error codes with this issue, depending on which wires shorted out.

Where are the filters on an lg dishwasher?

Your dishwasher may have a filter located near the bottom or under the lower spray arm. This filter should be inspected and cleaned regularly. Follow your dishwasher owner's manual for specific instructions about how to properly remove and clean this filter, if equipped. If there are any holes or other damage to the filter, you'll need to replace it immediately to protect the dishwasher's pump and motor seals from damage.

Lg dishwasher 14aw2 Says 0E Dishwasher still dry inside water tap is turned on pipe isnt kinked

Dear Jester Stanf,
Your drain pump may not be working anymore. Check the outlet hose and let it lie on the floor to drain most water out of the dishwasher, then remove the Top Panel (fastened by 2 screws at the back) and then the side panels. A normal Dishwasher should be attached to the sump.
You can test it by applying direct power to it, its alternating current so it doesn't matter which pin you attach live to and which neutral. If it turns, then inspect the machine for a loose wire towards the pump, if it does not turn sideways, or does it strangely then replace the pump. You can get it from a reputable appliance spare outlet.

Kind Regards :-)

Dishwashing cycle starts for about 3 minutes then flashing LE light comes on and the machine stops. Why?

Display Condition LE = Motor Error

Possible Cause For Error Occurrence:

Wiring connection is OK?
The Impeller of Washing Pump is locked.
The rotor of Washing Motor is locked.
The Blade is locked.

Remedy:

Check the wiring connection.
Replace the cause of restriction.
Replace the Washing Motor.
Replace the PCB.

Try the following steps:

Unplug the washing machine if you see an LE error on the two-digit display electronic readout. This error indicates a miscommunication between the control panel and wash motor.

Press and hold the "Start/Pause" button on the front panel for five seconds.

Plug the LG dishwasher back in.

Run a cycle. The LE code will clear.

Measure the electric resistance of the Drain Motor. (Value should be 20-40 Ohms) If it is out of spec, replace it.

Ldf 7811ST dishwasher

ok if that's the correct code then it will likely be a communication problem between the motor and control panel ie loose wire broken wire resistance on the touch pad control ribbon which can be cleaned with a pencil eraser by the way or something along those lines the control just thinks the motor is bad because it cant communicate with it maybe

Dishwasher

Run an extension cord for the dishwasher and plug it into another outlet somewhere else.  If the power issue still occurs, then there is a problem with the dishwasher.
