JVC HM-HDS4 Hard Drive failure, how to obtain a replacement

    Hello FixYa,
I have made a mistake in using you assistance request page, and repeated an old request. The assistance I wanted to request is as follows:-
Have Canon MPC200 Printer. Following "Waste tank nearly full" warning, have used procedure to reset EPROM, but at the end of the procedure, it appeared to lock in some way, resulting in having to Unplug Printer. Now Printer will switch on OK, and can access the Service system & do test prints, but, although the computer detects the printer & lists it in My Computer, the computer says it is unable to communicate with the printer, Restarting the "MP Service"(which it recommends)does not cure the problem. Have un-Installed & Re-Installed printer driver, but still won't communicate. Can anyone offer a method to re-establish communication with the printer please?

Is there any way of correcting this error please?

I have a jvc smart tv. After a power failure the below pic is all my tv will do. Please help

Try a hard reset to this set and check. If it do not help you, the firmware is corrupted. A firmware update is necessary.
There are two types of reset to TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset; and the other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight; will be better. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.

I have a JVC-HD projection TV model 56G786 and all of a sudden it will not power on. When you try to turn it on the blue light on the power button goes on but after a few seconds it starts flashing and...

Hi,

The JVC 56G786 users manual will not give you a clear or specific answer about confirming bulb failure with the LED lamp or power indicators located on the front of the TV.

If the TV was operating normally for an extended period of time (months or years) and will not start, the problem is almost always bulb failure. If the "Lamp Replacement" warning previously appeared "On-Screen" and the TV will not start, bulb has failed.

The first step in a "no picture" situation with a JVC LCD Rear Projection TV is bulb replacement. There is no way to measure the bulb. Sometimes the bulb is visibly broken or damaged when it fails. Remove the lamp cage and have a look.

The JVC Lamp Gallery has all the JVC models and lamp numbers listed. There is also a link to DIY JVC bulb and lamp installation.

If a good bulb is installed correctly and the TV still does not start, you need a technician. There are no user serviceable parts other than the bulb. Failure of ballasts, power supply boards or controller boards is rare in these TVs.

Our colors are not matching up. When we do the automatic conversion, the green is not in alignment with the other colors. Can we save our tv?

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.
This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.
You can get a repair kit with parts and instructions from www.TvRepairKits.com

61 inch projection tv flashing on and off

The most common problem with JVC LCD rear projection TV is bulb failure. Do not panic, this is normal after 2-5 years of use.

You can change the complete assembly or for less cost just change the bulb. Do not use Osram or other funny brand "rebuilt" or locally made bulb. Use a Philips replacement and all should be good.

Changing the bulb involves removing the lamp assembly and taking it apart like a puzzle and replacing the bulb. JVC are a little more difficult to do than most others because the wires on the original bulb are molded into the glass on the original bulb. Wires must be cut and stripped of insulation before connecting to the new bulb.

All JVC LCD Rear projections TVs use TSCL110 TSCL110U TS-CL110U Lamps.

Rapid blinking light (lamp) on a JVC model HD

It normally means the lamp is in need of being replaced, and its all depending on the use of the TV as well as how long the lamp life is. You should be able to access the lamp via a small section near the rear or the back of the TV unit, if the lamp is blown or faulty it will look the same as a blown light globe.
To obtain a new lamp contact the brands authorised repair agent as they will be able to get trade prices and in turn, give you the best price,
Also make sure that whoever replaces the lamp resets the lamp use time as the TV will still not start if you don't reset the lamp use time as it will still think it has a faulty lamp. I hope this helps, good luck.

I'm looking for a replacement convergence board for my Jvc AV48WP74 tv. SSB-5068A-M2 I've replaced the STK392-150 ic's already and after a week they failed again. JVC does not return my calls.

A Google search for the board part number returned several sources. Here's one. You should also check the values of resistors around the STK's. When the IC's fail, the resistors can change value which can cause the repeat failure you're experiencing.

Vertical jitters on picture - JVC AV48P776

What you are experiancing is loss of High voltage. The line is called a retrace line. It is usally caused by failure of the flyback circuit or aging of the TV tube. This is the single most common failure with CRT based display systems. The high voltage can be tweaked up, to accomidate for the age of the tube. Its a short term solution. Because of the high voltage nature of this circuit, suggest a professional repair.
