Fitted new power supply on samsung tv then its burning the resistors on the ysus

This issue here with the powerboard and the resisters on the Ysus is related to purchasing the WROUNG power supply unit. What I recommend you do is take the old supply out andmatch up the serial number and part number to get the EXACT unit.

You simply just cannot purchase a part on ebay and expect results. Many times people sale things and not know what type of output voltage the TV is supposed to take, Resulting in further damage to the unit. would have this part for you. I recommend using the part number of the chasis. You will now have to replace the power board and the Ysus.

Picture went black but you could still hear the movie

Hi- My PL4260N stopped working after about three years, the audio worked but no video at all. The TV worked fine until one more picture.
I found out that the YSUS and ZSUS boards in the TC fail alot...BUT you can get new or repaired ones off of EBAY...
First check for failed components (burned, loose, bulging, etc.) if nothing obvious is failed then check the fuses on the YSUS, ZSUS, and power supply boards...usually if a board has a blown fuse the board needs to be replaced...get the part number and search it in Google and eBay and you will find options for replace/repair.
Mine had a blown fuse on the YSUS board...I got it fixed for $75 through coppell TV (they are on Ebay)....
Now my TV works fine again!
Good luck.

Some troubleshooting help please.

The part that caused the fuse to blow is the hybrid that is mounted underneath the heatsink on the YSUS and ZSUS boards. The part used on these boards might be YPPD-J017C or YPPD-J018C, in about 90% of the time, replacing these hybrids fixes the plasmas with no video but good audio. Since VS and GND is shorted, that means that the hybrid has shorted internally. Most service techs would rather replace the entire YSUS or ZSUS boards since the hybrids are very difficult to remove.
Let me know if you require further assistance.

Burning smell and dark screen

Needs new hybrid ic on ysus board. There was probably a short in it somewhere.

If the tv is worth it, a new ysus will cost about $50 upward.

No picture, just sound, blown y buffer board twice1

a4.. there are 2 of them, upper and lower buffer boards.. they control the top and lower half of screen devided horizontally, i have had many run ins with these sets. and usually the buffer boards arent cheap.

they plug into the ysus( y sustain).. its possible your y sustain is blowing the buffer moduals because one of its i.c.'s under the heatsink has popped on ya.. effectively creating a short that blows the buffer boards.
remove the buffer boards, turn tv on... feel the 2 silver heat sinks on that y sustain( beware dont zap urself.. just the tip of your finger on the heatsinks)

you may find that one is cold and one is hot...if so, you need a new y sus and probably to replace the buffer boards the a4 upper and a4 lower.

If you get a new ysus.. plug the a4 upper and lowers into it, look at your picture.. if ur missing the top half the top buffer is blown or lower half the bottom buffer is blown. picture they could both be easy way to tell if u have no picture to diagnose is..touch the heatsinks that sit over the chips on the buffers..if they are red hot.. they are bad and shorted internally.

HP PE4200N Plasma TV

This problem is caused by something called a YSUS board going out. You can buy the replacement parts for about $300 dollars or there is a company that will fix the YSUS board. I don't have instructions yet for removing the YSUS board, but if you've got the skills or know someone who's good with electronics, you can fix the board for about $120. I've got the same problem with my 42 inch plasma TV. I called PTS Electronics today at 812-824-9331 (their website suggests you call 800-844-7871). I spoke to Kelly. She was very helpful, but said anybody at their number can help.
Kelly said that you do not need to call first to get a return authorization. To get the YSUS Board fixed, you need to remove yours and send it to the following address:
PTS Electronics
2000 S. Liberty Dr
Bloomington, IN 47403

When you ship in, you should include a letter with the following information:
Your Name
Your Mailing Address
Your Phone Number
Payment info for the $122.60 to repair the board. If you want to pay with a credit card, note that in your letter and that you want them to call you. They'll call you to get your credit card info when they receive your board.

She suggested shipping via UPS and insuring the part when you ship it.

I learned some new things when I spoke to her. If you'd prefer to replace the board in your printer, you can use one of the following alternate parts to replace the YSUS board:
Part made by LG - part #6871QYH053A
Part made by LG - part #6871QYH053B
Part made by Toshiba - part #75003031

Out of the three alternate replacement parts, the only one they currently have available is the Toshiba part. They have it listed at $254 (I thought Kelly said $268 - maybe with shipping?) with a core value of $65 that you'll get back if you ship them your broken part. That leaves you paying roughly $200. Having them fix my part seems like a better option to me. Kelly also said that all these parts for the HP TV are refurbished parts - none of them are new - that's why they want you to send them your broken part.

Link to PTS website with information about ordering 1032298-HS ( They currently have 0 available for sale. The message on this page tells you to contact them to arrange repair using the information provided above.
