Question about RCA Lyra RD2820 20 GB MP3 Player

1 Answer

Something internal My player shuts down after only 3 hours of use. I thought it was the batt, but after my uncle rigged a brand new, exactly same kind of battery, and it does the same thing. A voltometer shows the battery to still be very near to full, but the player displays a low battery message and will not function.

I am charging the battery of a brand new purchase. Do I need to let the battery charge fully, ie; the 3.5 hours before I can use it? I keep getting a, "Key LOCKED, system shutting down message on the...

For the initial charging, YES, you need to follow what's on the manual. If it requires you to charge the player for 4 hours as the initial charging, you need to leave it connected to the wall outlet for 4 hours, so that the battery life will become longer.

Though the key is locked, it's still charging. As long as it's connected to the outlet.

Thank you.

Your battery is draining too fast . There is some problem with the internal battery .Since it is brand new I will prefer you to go to apple service center to get your itouch repaired . Some products will be having these kind of problem . Apple will replace it .
Hope this helps .

Batter low shutting down

Your battery is low, therefore the player is shutting down.
Recharge the player by plugging it into your computer for 3-4 hours - make sure the hold/lock is not activated, or it will prevent proper charging.

Try these steps, if they aren't of any help, you may have to have the vendor replace your mp3 player.
SOLUTION 1 - Reset the device.
1. Press and hold the Power/Menu button for approximately 20 seconds.
2. Release the Power/Menu button.
3. Press the Power/Menu button again to turn on the player.

SOLUTION 2 - Power cycle the device.

STEP 1 - Remove the battery

STEP 2 - Power cycle the player
1. Connect the device to the PC.
2. Leave the device connected for about 2 minutes.

STEP 3 - Turn on the device
1. Disconnect the player from the PC.
2. Insert a fresh AAA battery into the player.
3. Turn on the player.

Keeps shutting down.

The solution is found! There's no need to format your HDD
- Unplug the battery;
- Press and hold the reset button for 20-25 sec;
- Put the battery back to it's place;
- Charge your device (when you plug the cable in, it turns on (note that a blinking lightning icon appears on the charging indicator), then it turns off with it's "shutting down" message, dont pay attention on this, just let it charge for about 10-15 minutes (note that the CHG bulb won't be lit));
- Turn on your device. The CHG bulb is lit, Archos doesn't shut down
- Enjoy

How can i fix my mp4 player?

I have a very similar Mp4 with an hour glass thingy as well and I've had to take mine back to the dealer 3 times now! if its brand new you should have sufficient warranty and be granted a new one. :)
