Open Question

When I click Easy Update the following message comes up. "The following components Fix-It Utilities MergeCFG " Helper DLL could not be checked for an update because the following error occurred. The first time it was (12007) -cannot resolve name. Somehow that was resolved, I haven't figured out how or why!! Now it's showing the same message except that the error is now (2) The system cannot find the file specified! Is it just tempremental? I can't see that I am doing anything wrong, when all I do is click on Easy Update when prompted to do so. I have to say at the moment I am far from happy with it!

Are you using any trend micro anti virus? If so, try the following

1. Open your Outlook 2007
2. Click on Tools.
3. Click on Trust center.
4. The Trust center window will pop-up and click on Add-ins on the right part of the screen.
5. Under Manage: COM Add-ins
6. Click on Go.. (Middle bottom part of screen)
7. Uncheck all the Add-ins Exept for TMAS (TMAS is Trend Micro) then Click on OK.
7. Restart your computer.

When I turn on my Acer laptop, I get a message box saying "Check the status of your Acer eNet Services" and I don't know what to do. Thank you very much.


I followed the instructions given by one of your tech support guys - had a little trouble finding my way through the control panel services lists but in the end manged to fix my problem. I went into control panel, administrative tools, component services, services. I clicked the disabled files associated with my Acer eNet Services and made them automatic. Don't know why they became disabled to begin with but I had just downloaded an update Mozilla Firefox and Java - whether this had anything to do with it or not. Thanks for the help.

Try going into control panel, add and remove programs and finding the HP update program. Uninstall this and you should nto get any more update messages

Driver blockt work due to compatibility issues.


A user can uninstall the Windows Vista update that is causing this issue. Once the update is uninstalled you will need to wait until Microsoft has released a fix for this issue. Otherwise, a Windows Vista update may cause this problem to occur again if Microsoft has not pushed a fix yet.
To uninstall the conflicting update, do the following:
1. Click Start
2. Click Control Panel
3. Click Programs and Features
4. Choose View installed updates
5. Select "Update for Microsoft Windows (KB943302)
6. Click Uninstall
7. Restart your computer and the update should be uninstalled
