Yikes. I've tried about everything and can't get rid of it. But once I do, I would LOVE to know where it came from (so I can avoid getting reinfected). Anyone know?!

I'm so happy I figured this out!

In firefox, go to tools, options, advanced, then under Network, click settings. Then select No Proxy. That should disable the virus. This MAY need to be done after disabling it in task manager.

C:\program files\tinyproxy. there is a hiddenf ile in there called tinyproxy.exe. It takes over your browser so if you have something stiopping it from execting then you will not be able to get on the internet at all! let it run and google gets redirected to other websites when you click on searched links.

Havent found out how to get rid yet, nor have the anti spyware softwares- unless somebody knows something I dont!

Ok that should have done the trick, but in certain circumstances it's a good idea to run Hijackthis and send the
log to someone who can help you determine what is in your registry. I don't usually give advice on registries since
it's risky and I don't want to be blamed for screwing up someones machine. I would also recommend in certain
circumstances that you run combofix. It's great at getting rid of certain pesky viruses and adware, but first you
need to run Hijackthis, just sign up here and post your log there.

Lifecam.exe stopped working how can I fix

First go to Control Panel, Hardware, Devices and look for your webcam. Go through the tabs to make sure it is Enabled. If you don't see your webcam, or you can't click enable, then you will need to reload the software drivers, either from disc or the manufacturer's website. Once you think you have it working you may want to reboot your computer, and then try the free webcam test tool.

Have you just installed a new security app such as Kaspersky?

If so you could so allow CEC_main.exe in the firewall which should cure the problem.

Windows Freezing

Boot the system in safe mode
1.) restart the system
2.) pump the F8 Key until a screen comes up with different options
3.) select safe mode,

Try right clicking there and see what happens,, I,m guessing here this is a result of damages done by a previoulsy removed virus (GUESSING) it is possible that the same one could have been shard by all 3,,

I'd advise you'd uninstall norton and use the new avg free
Let me know what hgappens and we can tgake this a bit further

Creative Webcam Instant drivers for Vista

My wife has a new computer with Vista on it.  I tried to plug in my Creative Webcam Instant into it, thinking there would be no problems.  Turns out that Creative doesn't support Vista for a couple of its webcams.  I fixed it, though, and now there's no problems.  What you have to do is take advantage of a couple of Vista's less-obvious features.  Put the Creative CD in.  On the CD (not in a folder on the CD), there's a setup.exe.  Right-click it and select "Properties".  On the "Compatibility" tab, enable the option to run it in compatibility mode for XP SP2.  Then also check the "run as administrator" option, just for good measure.  After that, it will install just fine (otherwise, the Creative installer tells you that it doesn't support your version of Windows).  Then, after it installs, find the program's executable.  It should be in the relevant program files folder (if you're not sure, hover over the webcam center shortcut in the start menu, and see where the program is actually located).  Do the same thing for the program executable (right-click, compatibility tab, enable compatibility mode for XP SP2, enable running as admin for good measure).  If it doesn't work for you after all that, I don't know what to tell you.  It works just fine for me now (it didn't want to otherwise).
