The format is done for the microSD memory card and might be done within
the cell phone's menus or using a card reader and connected to your
computer, then formatting it that way. If you use a PC, open up "My
Computer" and look for the memory card. Right click on it and select
format. You will see two choices, FAT32 and FAT. Choose the "FAT" option
("FAT" is also know as "FAT16"). Once complete the card will now be
formatted using the FAT16 format.
tell me about it, had same problem...i had to format it i had no other choice... on my comp i have a memory card reader so i formatted like that..but dont know why you get an erorr. i tried that method another time and it worked 100%....hope it helps
I had the same problem and I tried everything. I couldn't think of anything else to do so I just turned my phone off and back on again. When I went back to the memory card menu on my phone all the folders that I lost re-appeared. I don't know if it would work on other phones but it's worth a try!
Did you try to format the card in the device thru Windows Media Player, or Rhapsody?
If so, try formatting it thru My Computer instead. My Computer>Device Name>Right Click and select format.
It is most likely NOT a virus if you have only put music on the device. It is most likely a corrupt file, or a database error.
Best of Luck.
