Question about Dell Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
I had to Reinstall Windows on my Dell laptop.
Now all my Documents are jumbled. Turns out, I somehow do not have the good old fashioned version of Microsoft Word that I once had. How do I get that back? My laptop came with a WordPerfect disk so I installed that. It only made things worse. I have too many documents to try to fix them within WordPerfect. Can anyone help me?
If you did a reinstall of the Microsoft Widows XP or Vista and expected Microsoft Word documents to be usable without also reinstalling Microsoft Word you are out of luck. Microsoft Word is a seperate software suite. You can do one of the following:
1. Use openoffice to work with the word docs (openoffice.org for the free download)
2. Get ahold of MS Office from either a store purchase or a friend with a volume license.
3. Download from Microsoft.com the trial version of MS Office 2007 and use it until the trial runs out.
Hope this helps.

a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
