Sony KV34xbr800 dead with 6 blinks

I've replaced both MCZ3001D IC's on the D Board and it worked for a whole day. Next morning, back to 6 blinks. Can solder and have DVM. Any components more likely going bad with 6 blinks? Thanks

Hello,

For 6 blinks Pls check following area.

Low HV Shutdown:
On the D Board.
Check IC8004/pin 7 should be 7.4v.
Check IC8006/pin 2 should be 2.5v if lower will trigger shutdown by causing pin 1 to turn on.
Check IC8006/pin 3 reference voltage 2.2v.
IC8006/pin 1 normally at 0v. If high
turns D5007 ON which turns the latch circuit Q6532,
Q6530, and Q6527 ON and turns the AC relay RY6501 OFF.

And NOTE: 6 blinks also can be Low B+ protection.

Unregulated 7.5 v from the power supply to 5v reg IC504 on the A Board. 5v to M Board Q2314

to CPU IC2300/pin 43. If 5v missing set will shutdown with 6 blinks.I think this will help you to solve the issue.

Good Luck

How did the above suggestion work out for you, I am having the same problem with my 40XBR800 and could sure use a "heads up" on it. I haven't worked on a TV for a number of years, but with the quotes I'm getting from repair shops I have to at least try.

Blinks 6 times. i go into self dia. under 6 it has (bat low)

i think it B+ low voltage error
usually a 6 or 7 blink will be a bad IC, its like IC8002 I think, atleast on the smaller tv sets, its a 12 pin IC
looks like the # is MCZ3001D or MCZ3001DB
they'll usually be intermittent and eventually fail

Light blinks 6 times, no picture, no sound

6 times blinks shows error of Low +B, OVP/ OCP
Replace IC6501 & IC8002 [ MCZ3001D ] on D board.
If you are handy with electronics stuff repair and can solder parts in circuit board then replace above said ICs or call local TV tech to do the job.
Thanks.

My KV-36HS500 doesn't turn on.

You will need 2 MCZ3001D or MCZ3001DBs and two 18 pin IC sockets. the chips are on the d-board inside the tv.

Sony KV-34HS510 blink codes

I would question that diagnosis, Did you get it online somewhere or did you have a tech check your B+ voltages ?
6 blinks is almost always caused by 2 chips on the "D board", they are both marked MCZ3001D you can order them here if you are a consumer not a tech 800-575-9833. Not to say that the jungle IC & those 2 caps couldn`t cause a dead set symptom but these 2 IC`s are notorious for the 6 blink code, I have personally fixed approx. 10 sony sets with the 6 blink code with those IC`s, hope this helps

Sony 57 inch WEGA Projection TV

Hi, this is a very common failure, you need to replace 2 IC chips on your power supply board, marked on the top of the IC`s is this number: MCZ3001D you can purchase them here if you are very proficient at soldering & un-soldering, and the board has to come out of the tv to do this, you might want to call a tv man for this one, but it will fix your set, happy holidays, BMW Rider
