Usually soak your phone in rice. That will soak all the water in. Then remove battery, sim card, phone case, charms etc. and place in new a new bowl of rice. After letting sit in the bowl for one hour remove and clean the inside of the phone without the battery in with a baby wipe, soapy towel, hand sanitizer which will kill the germs causing the corrosion. After wiping baby wipe, soapy towel, hand sanitizer off with a little water let sit again in rice.

How do I fix a ZTE N861form water damage

Put the phone in a bag of rice for 2-3 days the rice should absorb most of the water. If you have any technical knowhow when it comes to cell phones then take the phone apart look at all the electrical boards and see if there is any corrosion on the solder joints/points if there is, remove the corrosion using Isopropyl alcohol(Rubbing alcohol) try to use 90% if possible then put the phone back together. I do not recommend you disassemble your cell phone without prior knowledge or experience doing so.

pretty much. the ICs by now has corrosion already if you did not open it up and air dried it. It would be more expensive if you have this fixed.

Keypad not working when i try and punch in anything numbers ,menu, nothing comes up

Hi,
100% hardware problem.
1. Open phone and check for water damage near LCD. (VERY IMPORTANT, CHECK FOR CORROSION NEAR CONNECTOR OF VOLUME SWITCHES)
2. IF no corrosion replace complete keypad ribbon, else you have ti change the connectors.

Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Dropped phone in salt water turns on but buttons wont work

Your phone is probably cooked ... salt water is highly corrosive. Your service provider may be able to clean it ... but it is probably damaged beyond economical repair. The sooner you get your phone into the professionals, the better your chances of recovery. Be prepared to replace it.

Thanks for your interest in FixYa.com Please remember to evaluate this response.

Thank you

No power

Strip down the cell but you should have removed the battery after getting it out of water,i find most cells recover if dissasembled a.s.a.p and cleaned out then the circutboard can be wiped down with a lubricant like wd40 using a fine small artist paintbrush and swabbing with a cotton cloth gently to remove moisture. The residue wd40 displaces corrosion that may occur in future.

Broken nokia 6600 ... please i need your help!! :(

Water, cellphones worst enemy, i sugest you to buy a new one as the damage of water occurs just withing 2 minutes of the contact, this is because the water starts reacting with the metals inside that have electriciy on them that often creates corrosion and that corrosion is conductive. if you want to minimise damage next time i suggest you to IMEDIATLY remove the battery and put your phone in a sock or piece of clothe and swing it round to remove the water from its guts. this way i have saved some phones afterwards i used a hair dryer to dry them up as soon as possible.

BACKLIGHT STILL ON

How wet did it get? Was it submerged? The backlight would normally shut off after a short idle period or when you close the cover. If it is staying on all the time after water damage then there is still water in a component (like a capacitor) or corrosion that has opened or shorted a circuit path somewhere confusing the phone. There is a good chance that corrosion will become worse and do more damage. New problems could arise any time in the next few days or few years. If this were my phone I would disassemble it and clean it with rubbing alcohol, toothbrush, and air duster but there is some risk even for someone experienced. Also, microphones can be damaged by fluids including rubbing alcohol.
