Question about Olympus Stylus 700 / 700 Digital Camera
I have a Olympus m700 Camera. When the power button is pressed, the lens come out half way & return back. Then there is a ble screen displayed with an error code D:5F 08 5e 02
HI ! this is strange as mine has just done the exact same thing on the 19th Oct !! Have Olympus put a breakdown timer in or what ??
I am sending mine back for repair as you have a 2 year guarantee on it ( you must still have the Waranty card and shop receipt though, to claim this ) . If not , then i'm afraid you may have to pay for a repair, BUT if this is an inherent fault, then you may be able to claim on this point ? I do not know what country you are in , but in the UK look at this link :
Sales of goods act
In any case , may be worth contacting Olympus Support ( you can go to their web site)
Hope this helps!

It seems this is a common problem with mju 700. The copper connector cable (there are couple of them) strips in the lens assembly gets snapped for which this error code is displayed. The only solution (and costly o fcourse) is to change the lens assembly (also known as lens barrel). The price in India is Rs 4600.00 which is approximately 100 US $. There are authorised service centres in India.
