It could be as easy as cleaning the laser. If you are a smoker, chances are that the smoke got inside the unit and is causing an issue. Wont read disc. Need to take DVD player out of tv set and clean laser. If that doesn't do it, make sure u are playing the correct type of DVD'S. Some types wont play in tv, expecially if they were burned from a computer. Usually DVD-R'S play fine and DVD+R'S won't play on some dvd players. Give that a try and let me know how things turn out.. Sincerely HDTV GURU JAY.
hello, you have to open the back cover of the combo to clean the lens of the DVD with cotton bud dip slightly in a methylated spirit, if otherwise replace the drive of the DVD. you can get a new DVD from the this site store.richspsxparts.com/wiiredvddr hope this works
do you mean wont play on dvd players (connected to tv)
if so its because the software you are using is not compatable.or the way you are burning them.for instance if you use nero dvd (mp4)you can only view with nero but you can config to use with any player. If you mean it wont play on other computers its usually wrong format.you can maybe cure this by updating dvd drive firmware.
it might be an older DVD player that can't read computer-made discs, or it could be a disc incapability...
Try in videohelp.com - where you can put in your TV's DVD model # and it will tell you which DVD formats it supports based soley on the users findings.
