Fax with Pixma MP780

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I can't get my Pixma to fax. I allow Pixma to scan to its memory, then hit okay, it dials the number, rings, connects and nothing happens. Is there something else I'm supposed to do to get it to send the fax?

Everything works - connection tones, etc., and the pages are stored to memory, but the automatic report says 0 pages sent and the fax failed. I think there is something else I should do - another button to push - but there isn't any "send" button. I've been thinking about it, and there's something else I will try. Again, thanks for trying. I'm in U.S., not U.K. so I won't take you up on your offer.

Why didn't I think of the obvious? The provider gave me a wrong fax number. Tried with a different number and it worked just fine! Rats. What a lot of time wasted. Unfortunately, number was given to me by telephone from an office that had closed for the day when I tried to fax, so I couldn't confirm the number until today. Thanks so much for trying to help.

If you can hear it connecting and you can here fax tones then it sounds like it going. just place the page in the adf and dial your number and hit send button. how do youknow that the other person is not reciveing it? if you are in the uk then i can send you a page and see what we get?

Trying to receive a fax. Display says

You have to cancel the fax. If its saying that then the paper sent to you was a legal sixe 8.5x14 and needs that type paper to receive the fax. Some faxes have legal trays and A4 but most don't.

Printer is not working

It is possible that the FAX in the memory is causing the problem. Try unplugging the printer from the wall and leave it off for a minute or two to see if it will clear the memory

When I hit hook to send a fax I hear a click but I get no dial tone and the same on receiving a fax MP830

You only hit hook to hear the dial tone or use the machine like a speaker phone. To send a fax you press fax start. If you can't hear a dial tone when you press hook, there is something wrong with the phone line connection, or it's plugged in to the wrong plug on the machine. The phone line goes into the one marked with an L, the other with the pic. of a phone is for an additional telephone.

Deleting scanned information from all-in-one printers' hard drive

The Canon doesn't have a hard drive, it only stores images until they are printed and only in flash memory. There will be no personal information left on it if you discard, unless you have phone numbers stored in fax memory.

Difficulty sending a fax

Hello. Please make sure your telephone line is plugged into the correct outlet.

Most fax machines typically allow you to plug the line (the cord that goes from the fax machine to the wall jack) and and a telephone (the telephone connects to the fax machine).

In order to fax correctly, you must plug the line into the jack with a block (looks like a 'T') marked on it. Do not plug the line into the jack marked with a phone hand set marked on it.

This shoulds in detail how to connect the line properly. For this printer the line cord must be plugged into the jack labelled "L"
