Question about HP Photosmart 2610 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Open Question

HP Photosmart 2610 will not initialize

When power is applied, the HP logo appears on the LCD along with the word "invent" and a progress bar. In about 20 seconds, the progress bar freezes, and within a few more seconds the screen becomes blank for a second, then the above cycle is repeated forever. The printer never initializes, never makes a sound, and never is recognized by the computer.
It was working just fine the day before. The printer wasn't moved or jarred, nor were any cartridges changed or paper added.
I have tried unplugging the USB cable, unplugging and reinserting the power cable, and going through the "partial reset", "semi-full reset", and "full reset" procedures I found at another website. Nothing solves the problem, although "full reset" appears briefly on the screen when I try that procedure.

Uninstall the program from your computer. Plug in your printer first replace with new cartridge making sure to remover the film on the cartridge Then plug in patch cord to computer, program should reinstall if need be you may have to have your disk that comes with the printer. Hope this works, Printers are going for very cheap I would suggest buying a new one if this does not work.

SOURCE: My HP Photosmart C6180 All-in-one turns off

The way you have described your problem gives indication that the problem lies with the electronic circuit/control panel. Therefore I would suggest you to contact your local HP service center/dealer and ask them to replace the machine/part if it is within the warranty period. I will not advise you to open and touch the electronic circuit unless you are a technician.

Apparently some defective components were used in the construction of the logic board (see photo). On my C6180 there were 3 failed capacitors (the green cylinders - the puffed top indicates failure) and a 4th from the same manufacturer (TEAPO - many unfavorable web references to this manufacturer). I purchased 3x 330uF 16V and 1x 680uF 10v rated to 105 degrees Celsius (total about 60cents). On the logic board, the capacitors I replaced are labeled C613, C614, C660 and C662. If you are not comfortable replacing the parts yourself (or don't have a soldering tool), you will have to find someone who will. The time to repair should be less than 30 min - I did it in 25 min with only a solder pen. This also fixed the ink system failures the printer was having. A similar fix may apply to other printers . 579e7fb.jpg

I went through several e-mails with HP on this problem coming out with the impression that nobody was actually reading my messages, they were reacting only to "key words." So the printer has been declared junk (by me) and will be replaced at the earliest opportunity but not with HP I am tending toward an Epson or maybe a Canon.

Thanks for your interest.

HP 7410 will not boot. It powers up and the HP logo screen flashe

This was solved really well on this blog. It is some problem with the wifi board. If you disconnect it (no so hard and well explained on the blog) you will have network printing over a cable but no wireless.

HP 7410 will not boot. It powers up and the HP logo appears on the screen with a progress bar. The display then scrambles and the power light flashes green. No buttons work or do anything.

connect the printer directly to the wall socket for the power supply if it is connected thrugh surge protector.
perform a reset :

unplug the power cable .
press and hold # and 6 key on the printer..
plug in the cable wait for 20 secs then release the buttons..
after this the printer will re-initialize .. this may take few mins..

and chek after that

Photosmart 2610 with power on get Error 0x886a6916

0x error codes indicate that the product has an internal error. Try to reset the printer:

1. Without turning off the product, disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the product.
2. Remove the cartridges from the product.
3. Wait for the 'Insert Cartridges ' message to display on the control panel.
4. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.
5. Wait 60 seconds.
6. Reconnect the power cord. If the product does not automatically turn on, press the Power button
7. Reinsert the cartridges, and then close any open doors on the product
8. If you receive a prompt to print a calibration page, do so.
9. Reconnect the USB cable to the rear of the product, and then try printing again.
