Re: computer hot

Hi Similar problem with athlon 64, stripped it down twice cleaned out first time and regreased second time didn't cure the problem, went back in and found that one of the air outlets hidden under heatsink had sufficient dust and dirt to stop air coming out the bottom half of the outlet. problem fixed but the fan works harder than it used to when running multple progs. but at least I have it working.

Re: computer hot

Hi, sounds like your cpu fan might not be working, or heatsink might just need new thermal grease put on to try and cool it better. when your laptop gets to a certain temperature the laptop will reset, to prevent damage to the cpu caused by excess heat. in the bios there is sometimes a option to have the machine switch off or reset at a higher temperature usually 65c - 75c but i would suggest you take it to a shop and have them check it out as damage to the cpu will cost you quite alot.. hope this help :-)

Re: computer hot

E-machines laptops have heat problems. design flaw. if you registered with e-machines they were sued. e-machines wouldn't admit to this but settlement is very good involving 1. repair with more warranty. 2. exchange with more warranty. 3. cash settlement. this was for new laptops or in my case a new refurbished laptop. i set my laptop in the passenger seat as i'm a truckdriver and noticed heat problems right away. bought a laptop cooler operating on usb from tigerdirect with two fans and high/low settings. no further problems and ran for hours in the latest texas heat. settlement was announced in mid-august and you still have time to get in. thnx me

MacBook Keys type incorrectly. I can't unlock my computer because the keys are all screwed up. This all of the sudden just happened and I don't know what's wrong.

You could try an external keyboard to get the password in, but it's also very possible that the cable for your keyboard is loose. It's worth it to open the case and make sure the keyboard cable is seated. I had a Toshiba go crazy like that and I found the cable partway out when I opened the case

When i try to save excel files to desktop they aren't saving the latest version,...

I don't think your computer is having an issue with capacity. I don't exactly know what the problem is, because it could be many things. However, if you want your Excel files on your desktop that you keep modifying, you can make a folder on your desktop, and then save them into that. It may be a good idea to delete each earlier one when you save new ones. Hope this helps!

Forget my password on mac book air

I am assuming that you don't know the password for the administrator account on the laptop. Unfortunately the only way to change the admin password is to re-install the OS (operating system). Seeing that you don't have the disc you will have to purchase one or dig up the one that came with the computer. The Snow Leopard OS disc is available from for just $40 here. Once the disc arrives simply insert the disc and follow through the steps to re-install the OS. More detailed instructions on installing Snow Leopard here. Hope this helps! When working with Mac OS, you're required to use an administrator password to install just about anything. If you forget your password, or if you're using a hand-me-down computer and you don't know the previous owner's password, there is no workaround to bypass the admin password. Your only solution is to reset the password with the discs the computer came with. This project has two phases. Changing the admin password is the first step, but you must also follow through and change the keychain login as well.
Things You'll NeedMac OS X install CDResetting the Administrator Password in OS X

1 Locate the Mac OS X install disc your computer came with. If you don't have it, you may be able to get another one from Apple by calling (800) SOS-APPL. (You will most likely have to buy another one.) Insert the disc into the optical drive.
2 Restart the computer while holding down the "C" key. A "Utilities" or "Installer" menu will appear, depending on which version of OS X you are running. Select "Reset Password."
3 Select "Macintosh HD" from the available volumes. On the drop-down menu, select the name of the original administrator account. Do not select "System Administrator."
4 Choose a new password and enter it in the two fields. Click "Save."

Resetting the Keychain Password in OS X

1 Go to the "Go" menu from the Finder. Select "Utilities" and scroll down to locate "Keychain Access." Double-click it.
2 Select "Keychain List" from the "Edit" menu.
3 Highlight the "login" keychain and delete it. The next time you log in to the account you can save your new password.
Don't forget to backup your files before you change anything. Your files shouldn't be affected, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
Thank you and Goodluck
