Is my DVD burner to blame for this problem?

I have had the Optorite DD1603 burner for years now.

I have also played RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, recorded video's from RCT3, and maganed to make movie files out of them on Windows Movie Maker. Then I would be able to burn thos video's successfully onto a DVD with my Optorite Burner.

But as of a few weeks ago, it seems like my burner won't successfully burn the DVD's anymore. I mean, the message at the end of the burn process keeps saying the burn was completed successfully, but truth be told, it's really not.

The original video files saved on my computer play perfectly fine. They even play perfectly fine when I burn them onto a CD as a Video CD. Al though the images on a VCD is a bit blurry, they play fine.

But now, as of the last two weeks, when I burn the video's onto DVD, the DVD keeps skipping around regardless of if it's being played in the same drive that burned it or in my home entertainment system.

I tried cleaning the Burner's lens, I tried recording it on several different types of DVD's, I tried recording it onto the DVD in different formats, etc. But nothing. The DVD's still skip around when playing the videos but the VCD's play them without any skipping around.

The local computer store workers can't even figure out why this is happening, none of my friends can figure out why this is happening, none of the other tech savy people I talked to so far can figure out why this is happening all of a sudden.

I'm at my wits end because regardless of what I do and how many discs I go through, nothing seems to fix this problem.

Any suggestions?

I do have Windows XP, have over 700 MB of RAM, have over 7GB of free disc space, have Nero, and basically have more than what's required to run this stuff.

Why can't it just burn the video's successfully and glitch free?
