Question about Refrigerators
I've had this good Amana fridge/freezer for @ 10yrs, and now all of a sudden the water will not dispense from the door (it clicks like it will dispense but doesn't) - please help? Could hard water have blocked it off?
I have a GE side by side refridgerator and have had the same problem 2 times. Under the freezer door is a the water tube which carries the water to the exit tube. You can locate the tube by removing the grill at base of fridge. Their you will see a connector connecting the 2 tubes. Seperate the tubes, take the feeder tube and hold it over a bowl, then you must close the door for the switch to work. Once door is closed, push dispenser switch on and if water flows into the bowl you are good from the main valve and your problem is in the door which is most likely a frozen line. It usually freezes near the bottom of the door. Reconnect tubing. Leave the door open for 10 minutes and use a hair dryer to that area so you can defrost the tubing. Be careful not to overheat the rubber gasket on the inside of the door because you will mess up the seal. After heating, close the door and retry switch. Good luck!

That is a possibility .. no knowing exactly what model you are speaking of I would check the water inlet valve.
