Question about Mitsubishi WS-55807 TV

1 Answer

Mitsubishi WS-55807 The tv will turn on and then in a few minutes the images start to be shadowed/outlined with 3 colors (green, red and blue). The problems can SOMETIMES be corrected by a less than gentle tap on the top of the tv. However, this is only a temporary fix. Bought the TV used and am looking to fix it without paying an arm & leg. Any solution?

Hello, I bought a used Mitsubishi WS-55807 just recently and the weird thing is that I turn on the TV I can only get HD quality through the Comcast box. If I change the channel to a regular reception I get all sorts of color lines in multiple colors. After a couple of minutes of those color lines then I just get a green screen. Then it goes into a black screen. I have a PS3 and a vcr and a regular DVD player that I’ve hooked up, and when I change the input to that that component I get the same problem. A bunch of color lines. It will flash the DVD movie for maybe 3 seconds then it flashes back the multiple color lines then get a green screen. A couple of minutes after the green screen then I’ll get a black screen. So really all I can get is HD quality out of Comcast through the DTV input. All my components get all the color lines. Then the green screen. Then the black screen. What do I do

You have a convergence problem, and the sooner you get the set into the shop the less it will cost you. It seems that you may only have bad or cold solder connections on the stk convergence ics. If you keep hitting it to fix it, its goingg to surge the parts then youll be looking at 300 bucks or more to repair. GET THAT SET IN ASAP. Good Luck

You need to turn down the voltage on all 3 crt's. You have a red one, a blue one and a green one. Slowly adjust the knob down until you don't see the shadow any more. Then adjust your color in the user menu.

The set has a bowed appearance and the 3 colors have seperated. I imagine the bulb(s) are going as it's a old set.

The arching of color can be adjusted on the color gun by slighty turning the screw on the gun Blue, Green, Red. This fixes the arching and or fade-blinking in and out of color. The gun on my 65" sony is inthe front of the set. Removing the front panel grants me access to this. You may have to access it from the back on your model. Looks like a small box with 3 screws ont he front. Hope that helps...

My mitsubishi ws 55807 turns on alright but the blue, green and red color are on top of each other and makes every image look triple. This tv was a gift from a friend and we moved it a lot to take it...

You have a convergence problem, if it happened after you moved it around then its either broken solder joints around the convergence modules(stk392-110) or it is a physical problem.
You could take the front screen off and see if the mirror inside has shifted. Also take the front and rear covers and look inside for anything that might have moved or cracks near components mounted on heathsinks. hope this will help. Good luck

Make sure you un plugged it by the power point for the 40 minutes
also make sure there is no speakers or anything magnetic within 60cm's of the tv this can also cause the picture to have strange colors in the screen - if that happens simple do the above
