How to select slitter cutter material

Incase of slitting Cutter, the cutting quality is the main criterion for selection of the its raw material. Raw material for tool should be hardened than the metal to be cut so that there is no deformation of the cutting tool. The Steel used for manufacturing of the slitter cutter used in slitting line should be such that it can be hardened in depth and should have sustained dimension for a longer period of its usage.
