I have a similar problem- periodically when watching tv the screen goes black for about 30 seconds, the green on light flickers and then the picture come back. cable vision said it is a problem with the tv not with reception or cable. if you find anything out let me know.

Mine just started something similar. When I turn it on, you get sound, the red light flickers, then before the picture comes on it cuts off. Sometimes I can spend an hour or more turning it on over and over again until finally the picture comes on. This TV is not old - only a couple years old and I spent alot of money for it as it was a more expensive model back then than they are now. Well, they don't make them anymore, but anyway it still cost more than a comparable plama HDTV. I think this really sucks!

Sony LCD TV Model #KLV-23HR2 The timer LED blinks red constantly after having turned on the TV. THe power light stays steady green for about 5-10 seconds then the red light keeps blinking constantly.

This is a common problem an a failry easy DIY fix.

Plasma and LCD TV sets are prone to having capacitors in the power supply section fail. This is the most likely cause for the probem you describe. When capacitors fail your will commonly see one or more of the following symptoms.
  • No video, Power light is on or blinking.
  • TV is making a clicking noise.
  • TV takes a while to come on
  • Screen is very dim or flickers.

Again, You can get a power supply repair kit with the parts, detailed instructions, and support from sites such as www.TvRepairKits.com . Or just click here to see more details on their kit.

Here are pictures of capacitors...Notice that the ones below look bloated. They have failed and will need to be repalced.

My Sony Bravia will play for less than a minute and then reverts to standy. Any suggestions?

Please unplug tv from wall socket for minute or so,, replug back in and turn it On.
If tv still goes to standby itself than its standby light would blink to show an error in somewhere inside tv circuits.
Let me know how many times standby red light blinking? There would be 3 seconds long pause in blinking so count pause to pause to determine problem section.
Thanks.

Hi,
Symptom shows Lamp is not working and either lamp or its drive board is bad that will be replaced.
Did you replaced lamp in tv recently?
If not, replace it. Lamp replacement procedure would be written in user manual.
Thanks.
