Got a sony to and surround sound system works fine but when I want to screen mirror my phone to tv I have to turn surround sound system of to get volume? Please help

Assuming that the TV is the device that is recognizing the phone you may have to route your spdif (optical out) via optical cable to the back of your surround amplifier as a separate input to the surround system. You'll be able to select this audio through the surround receivers remote. Just note what the Optical input was named on the back of the surround receiver. The reason you have to do this is that the 'Smart' Tv is what is recognizing the phone's bluetooth or DLNA address so the video and audio are going to the tv. The only way the surround can play the audio is via the TV's optical output. Optical cables are really cheap on Amazon.com. This one is $6 and will work flawlessly if the surround receiver is less than 6 feet away. http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Digital-Optical-Audio-Toslink/dp/B001TH7GSW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1425292532&sr=8-1&keywords=Spdif+cable

How do I connect my flat screen tv to my Phillips MX3900 system

This is an older home theater package and only has component video out for HD and RCA or SPDIF optical out for audio. You'll need to locate the component video input on the back of your flat panel and connect it to the component output of the Phillips unit. Component cables have 3 RCA cable (Red, Blue, Green) for HD. You can use a RED/WHITE RCA cable for audio but if you have a SPDIF Optical cable you should use that for better sound. The TV should have that as an input also. You will need to go into the Menu for the TV and select component video and SPDIF optical if you went that route for audio.

I am trying to hook up my Pioneer vsx-455 to a LG LED LCD TV. I am not sure on how to do this and I can not find a manual anywhere. Can you help me?

your reciever does not have hdmi, so the audio is not going to be true DD+ or DTS for broadcast tv.

if your dvd/blue ray player has digital optical spdif, this can be used to transfer the encoded DD+/DTS digital audio.

the besat way to run your tv audio through the reciever is to hook up the dvd/blue ray player up with (perferrably) digital optical spdif, composite spdif or (least favorably) through the stereo stereo analog inputs on the reciever for "dvd" audio in and hook the video from the dvd/blue ray up to the corresponding "dvd" video component input on the reciever.

this way is only going to get your dvd/blue ray sound, next you need to hook up your cable box to the reciever so that you can get broadcast tv sound. hook up the cable box audio to the "tv" stereo analog audio ins, and hook the video to the corresponding "tv" video component inputs.

the component video inputs have separate jacks for red, green and blue ( labeled "Y" "Pb" and "Pr") and are capable of carrying a 1080p full hd signal. use the component video outputs on the reciever to output the video signal to a component video input on the tv, using the receiver's input selector to change the video source.

I plugged in my cable HDMI into my RX - V365 Yamaha reciever. and HDMI into my TV. I get video, but cannot get my attached (to reciever) speakers to play. Help

RX-V365 doesn't support HDMI audio. You need to connect the cable box also via spdif cable for audio to work. Look at the box if it uses optical spdif or coax spdif. If optical, you see that optical input on receiver is named DTV/CATV, so use also DTV HDMI for video. Coax spdif is named DVD, so in this case you will need to use DVD HDMI input.
Also you need to configure the inputs accordingly.

Intermittant Audio with Yamaha RX-V465 only from cable box

I have the same receiver... You can try pressing the Option button and choosing Signal Info to see what audio signal the receiver sees and if that changes over time. Maybe the cable box is not outputting according to specifications... TV can live with that, but receiver maybe can't.
You can also try to connect the cable box via SPDIF cable (optical or coax) to see if it helps or not.

TV ranking

Hi. You could look up reviews. I personally usually never offer advice on choices, because what I like, may not be what you like..its a matter of personal preference. But in this particular case, I'd go for Panasonic. Why? Better features, better service, easier availability of parts, and better resolution.Plus some nice features. If this answers your question, PLEASE don't forget to rate as fixed. I'd really appreciate it. Enjoy your new tube!!!

Pioneer vsa e06

depends what audio outputs you have on the sky box, analogue (two phono usually red for right channel and white left channel)in which case just use phono leads to the phono inputs,Optical(toslink),connect an optical cable from the output to the optical input on the dvd channel of the pioneer, coaxial (spdif)connect to spdif input on the laser disk input of the pioneer, dont connect to the attenuated spdif. In the unlikeley event of the sky box not having any audio outputs, just use the outputs from the tv to the pioneer. The optical digital input gives the best quality on the vsa eo6
