This is a bad or dirty dew sensor, a common problem with this model. It's not a user correctable problem. Your local camcorder repair shop should take care of it ( under $100 ).

My camcorder is model GR-D20E. When I turn it on, there is error msg on the LCD screen: Please wait. Condensation, operation paused.

Hi.

The camera has got moisture inside it and that is why you getting the message on-screen.

I suggest you find a dry warm place to put the camera in for about 24 hours for the camera to dry out. Take out the battery when you do this.
The condensation should have dried up after 24 hours and should be fine after that.

Regards.

When trying to record or replay, I'm getting an error message that says "Please wait - Condensation, Operation Paused." I've waited now over a week & still getting the same error...

Put the camcorder in a warm dry place for a few hours, there is moisture inside the unit, that triggers the humidity sensor and shuts the camera off. If after drying the camcorder for a reasonable time it still will not function you will need to get it repaired.

When on sreen says please wait condisation operation paused wut do i do thank u

Condensation can form inside the camera if you take the camera from one environment to another where there is an extreme temperature change.
Simply wait until the condensation disappears. The warning is to protect tape and camera.

Lcd screen reads

Either the dew sensor is defective or there is some condensation inside the unit. Try opening up the unit and pointing a hair dryer at it from about 12" away (enough to blow warm air inside the unit, not hot air). Let that run for about 10-15 minutes and try the unit again. If it continues to fail, than the dew sensor needs to be replaced. This repair shoold be done by a repair shop as cameras are not the easiest to work on.

Following message is displayed on screen Please wait condensation operation paused

Hi FixYa !

My problem seemed to be like so many others, i.e. dirty or defective sensor.

One solution, was to turn the camera on, with the charger connected, and leave it on.
After app. one hour, the fault disappeared, and the camera was functional again, but the next day, I had to repeat the operation again!
Is there any where "cleaning the sensor" is descriebed?

MESSAGE ON SCREEN

Since water inside of these is a bad thing, these units contai a "dew sensor" that will prevent the loading of the tape if a "wet" condition exists. This can happen if the camera is cold and the room you are in is warm. The humidity on the air will condense onto the camera internals and cause this to occur. Try ejecting hte tape, leaving the compartment open and point a hair dryer at it. Keep the hair dryer a bit away from the unit, you don't want to heat it up, just get some warm air inside to evaporate the "dew".

If that fails to resolve the problem, the sensor itself may be defective and need to be replaced.

Keep us posted.

Condensation operation posed

If the camera becomes damp or cold and brought into a warm atmosphere damp forms in the mechanism which would cause the tape to stick and become damaged or fouled.

leave the camera to warm up for a few hours and the fault should clear.

If not the most common reason is the dew sensor has failed and needs replacing
