Hi. You should be able to turn the amp on by touching the remote wire to the B+ main power terminal. this will tell you if it is a problem with the remote from your head unit.

Not enough bass. should i run a capacitor.adjust my amp and what to set it at for max performance

Turn up the gain on your amp until you get the amount of bass you want or until the sub starts to distort. If you do this and you are still unhappy with the bass, you will need a bigger amp or better subs.

Can I hook up 2 single coil subs at a 2 ohm load on my sony xm-1252gtr?

If your sub woofers are SVC (single voice coil) 2 OHM each, then connecting one to each channel would make the amplifier run in 2OHM stereo Then again, if your sub woofers are 2OHM each, it would be better to connect both together in series and connect them to the BRIDGE specified speaker terminals of your amplifier making it run a 4OHM load into one channel. This will give you all the power the amp can give and still run stable. A 2OHM load into one channel will likely damage your amplifier. Do not forget to set the LPF (low pass filter)on if you are going to use the amplifier to run sub woofer/s. dreamsystems

1 Answer

Sub size

The sub you want is ONE single 4 ohm voice coil sub that is no higher than 500 watts in power but more than 350 watts. Your amplifier puts out the most power in the bridged state at 4 ohms so this is why you want a single 4 ohm voice coil sub. Also, you don't want to over or under power a sub so you want your sub to match or come close to your rated value of the amp. Good luck

Either the speaker is shorted out (blown), or the output transistors in the amplifier are bad. Try hooking up another speaker to the amp. If it plays, the amp is good. If not, then the amp is bad.

Nothing happening

Check your power and ground connections thoroughly. Also, check your remote turn-on connection. To test it, short the remote and the +12V connections together at the amp. This should force the amp to turn on. If all of the connections are good, there may be an issue inside the amp that will need repair.

Can it power the subs? Yes.

Can it make them crank? Well, that all depends on your expectations. That amp/sub combo is going to give each sub about 125W, which isn't much. But if it's what you have, it's better than nothing. You might also consider using only one sub and bridging the amp. This would put about 340W on the one sub, which is much more reasonable.

No you can not fix this yourself. If the amp is blown. But did you check all the fuses? And the remote wire connection?
