If it's still under warranty bring it back to where you bought it so they can replace your defective fan

Removing back cover of hp dv 6915nr

Back Cover?

1) Display Cover: The plastic cover that is on the opposite side of the LCD screen. Sometimes referred to as Top Cover.

Display Assembly is removed from laptop first, then LCD screen assembly is removed from the Display Cover.

2) Base Enclosure: The plastic bottom part of the notebook.
A laptop is disassembled from the Top down to the Bottom.

The bottom 'cover' (Base Enclosure) is not removed first. It is last.

3) There is no back cover per se. Half of the cover for the back (Bottom half) is part of the Base Enclosure. The top half is part of the Palm Rest.

(The back has the Vent in it)

[Use the dv6700 service manual. Go down to the subheading HP Pavilion dm1 (dm1 is in blue)
Scroll to the right, click on dv6700. Note that it is a PDF file, and may take up to 30 seconds, before you see the first page come up ]

What is it you are trying to do? What hardware component are you trying to access?

Post back in a Comment.

Display assembly is removed. Palm Rest Cover is removed, and so on.

Laptop turns on,then turns right back off.

Start by trying to drain the power from the laptop. To do this, unplug the AC adapter and remove the battery. Next, hold the power button down for 30 seconds. Then plug your battery & AC adapter back in and try to power on the laptop. If the problem persists, try turning it on with the battery removed. You can also try carefully removing the memory from the laptop (located in a covered compartment on the bottom of the laptop that is usually user-accessible with a screwdriver) to see if it will stay on longer than a second. You can also check to see if your laptop is still under warranty here:

My HP Pavilion's sound is suddenly disabled. It says that no audio output device is installed with a red X through the sound icon. Any suggestions?

Hello there:
you have a couple of options here
first go to control panel>>system> hardware manager.
right click on the sound and audio device update driver.
let windows find the driver, and install it. and if this doesent work
i highly recommend dowloading vinal ac 97 this is a free audio suite that features a mixer device and a eqalizer that gives the sound a boost i use it in a lot of the computers that i repair for people ok
I hope this is very helpful for you
Best regards Michael

If i press somewhere near to key pad my labtop is working otherwise its getting struck hang. if i press with force its working while booting also

sounds like your hardrive might not be %100 connected like a loose connection. take the cover off on the back and make sure your harddrive is connected firmly. if your not sure how to, http://www.irisvista.com/tech/ go here and take a look. these are all guides for toshiba laptops but its the same principle for any laptop.
