Question about Olevia LT37HVS 37 in. LCD HDTV
Issue with my Syntax Olevia - When I power it on, the blue screen turns black. The sound is still working. Anyone see this before?
You have a broken inverter board. I have a LT30HV, and it had the same problem. The inverter board supplies power to the backlight. Swap it out with a good one, and you're back in business.
To test, take a bright flashlight and point it at the screen just an inch or so off the surface. If you can see your picture, then you have a blown inverter.
it may not be worth fixing it. Wait for a good sale on a new one. My inverter cost about 150, and it was a remanufactured part. Not as good as the original part as it flickers just a tad. I had to take the entire TV apart, with pieces literally everywhere. My cats loved it.
