Question about Acer Aspire 5100 Notebook
My aspire 5100 was bought at the SOURCE in Yorkton,SK,CANADA
Its been freezing up on me I took it to the source they cleaned it out and t is still doing the same thing. What can I do to fix it ?
They must have thought it was "Dirty" which can cause the system to overheat. There are several things that can cause this problem. Without actually looking at it, it's hard to tell which one is causing the issue, but I'll list off the most likely problems:
1) Your CPU fan is not working properly causing your CPU to overheat which is causing the computer to stall.
2) You have ram that is 'failing' but not completely failed yet this can cause your system to stall (You will also sometimes see the 'blue screen of death' from this problem).
3) You could have spyware or other shotty software on your computer that is eating all your ram causing the Operating System to stop responding. Try this to fix:
A) On XP: Start>Run>Type in msconfig click ok, On Vista: Click Start>Type msconfig>press enter
B) On the "System Configuration" menu, choose "Startup" uncheck everything click ok reboot.
C) Does the system still stall? If it doesn't, it means that software on your system is the problem.
Hope this helps!
