Question about Apple iPhone Smartphone
I have an original iphone that's never been jailbroken or any such thing and it will not now sync with itunes (8.0.1). I've tried resetting the phone, restoring from itunes, and even reinstalling itunes but to no avail. When I plug my phone into the computer(imac G5) itunes will recognize the iphone and start to sync however no progress is made and it keeps attempting to sync in perpetuity without success. Please advise. Thanks
Hmm, interesting, so you say it shows up in itunes and even lets you do a restore, but it just doesn't sync music? if so, consider yourself lucky that you can at least still use it as a phone. if you can't sync at all, not even to restore, you most likely have a broken logic board or dock connector, you can try to replace those components yourself, there are guides websites online that teach you iPhone repair skills, but you should have a little tech background to embark on such endeavors.replace the dock connector first, because it is a much cheaper part, if that doesn't do the trick it's the logic board.
