Never had a problem previously. Itunes recognizes the phone and starts to sync but nothing beyond that happens. Iv'e tried restore, reset and even reinstalled itunes to no avail. Any thoughts? I'm on Leopard (OS 10.5, up to date). No firewalls or antivirus software on my computer. Thanks

Thanks voodoomax. I attempted your suggestion but, alas, I'm back in the same position again - continuous attempts at syncing without any progress whatsoever.

I've already reinstalled the latest software update again. I only have one computer with which to connect.

Recharge
Make sure iPhone is charged. Connect to a USB port and look for the lightning bolt battery icon in the upper right. If you don't see this icon, then iPhone is not charging. The battery will charge to 80% in an hour.
Note: If you put your computer into sleep mode while iPhone is connected via USB, iPhone may not charge.

This screen means to keep iPhone connected so it continues charging. Please note:
If iPhone is not sufficiently charged it will not show up in iTunes
Use a high-power USB port such as the one on your computer, or use your iPhone AC adapter.
Don't use the USB port on your keyboard because it is a low-power port and iPhone will not charge.
Make sure you are using USB to charge. Accessories that use FireWire to charge are not supported with iPhone.
If you see the red part of the battery image flash three times and then the screen goes black, it means that iPhone is not receiving power to charge.

If the above steps dont resolve follow the following steps :
Retry with a different USB port.
Note:
Don't use the USB port on your keyboard because it is a low-power port and iPhone will not charge.

If the above steps dont resolve follow the following steps :
Restart

Try restarting iPhone. To turn it off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone on, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

Does iPhone appear frozen or stuck? Try pressing and holding the Home button for at least 6 seconds to close a frozen application. Then try restarting iPhone again.

Note: If that doesn't work, try restarting your computer.
If the above steps dont resolve follow the following steps :
Reinstall

Reinstall iTunes 7.7 or later.
Get the latest version of iTunes (7.3 or later) from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

Thanks.

This may be a common thing with the new itunes, anyway, look for the authorization and then authorize your iPhone and that should sync the devices. if not then just turn out auto-sync on, unplug replug he iPhones and then wait until it syncs.

hope this helped you out, should you have other questions just lemme know

Iphones stuck on reboot apple logo

If your iPhone is jailbroken (do not restore from iTunes) Instead try to restore using the jailbreak software used originally.
Please take note as to why I displayed the top message first. As for the iPhone through iTunes, you are stuck in what is known as a boot loop error. A restore from iTunes is required provided your iPhone is not jailbroken. The 5.1.0 release for the jailbreak is not yet out and you will not be able to downgrade back to 5.0.0 once you restore from iTunes.

How can you reset a forgotten password on the iphone a1203 phone

If you have synced your iPhone with iTunes before you forget your iPhone password, you can reset your iPhone by using iTunes without losing data. Through iTunes, you can restore your iPhone from the last backup and remove the passcode from your locked iPhone while retaining your data. If iTunes asks you to enter the passcode, try another computer. Otherwise, you have to follow the reset iPhone Passcode with Recovery Mode section below. The following steps will show you how to reset iPhone password with iTunes.

  1. Connect your iPhone to the computer with via a USB cable that your iPhone has trusted.
  2. Launch iTunes. If you've synced your iPhone with iTunes, then no "enter password" is required.
  3. iTunes will automatically sync your iPhone and create a backup file. If it doesn't, you should sync your iTunes and create a backup file manually by in the Summary window.
  4. In the Summary window, you can see the option "Restore iPhone". Click it and follow prompts to choose the latest iTunes backup to restore your iPhone.
After the restoration process is complete, your passcode will be erased and all your data will be restored from your backup. You will now be able to access your iPhone without any passcode. And you can set your new password on iPhone.

My iPhone 3G is running slow and some apps don't open or take a long time. I went into Vodafone today and they suggested that I should restore to it's original settings, however when doing this,...

it wont restore if you jailbroken it, first you need to do, go to setting-general-about-locate your version ex: 3.1.2 (7D11), download what version you have right now at this link: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=750
ex: iPhone1,2_3.1.2_7D11_Restore.ipsw after downloading, go to itunes, press and hold shift+restore, locate the version that you've downloaded.. enter.

Hi you can apply factory reset from SETTINGS menu under General menu as "RESET" this will reset everything . But by doing so you will loose all your settings including Jailbreak.. So it is up to you, either use it as it is or RESET and return the original Apple settings which than you will able to snyc with itunes.... take care..

Mounting disk0s2s1... ERROR! What can i do... How i can make restore without Itune

That error you are seeing has come from Jailbreaking the IPhone, you will need to do a recovery and it will need to be done via iTunes, in turn your phone will no longer be jailbroken and you will need to jailbreak it again.

Might take several attempts to recover, but there is no way around this, the OS has an error and needs to be restored to original IPSW.

Iphone 2g wont sync

Reset and Restore iPhone to Original Default Factory Settings with Recovery Mode iPhone display freezing? iPhone doesn’t detect by or appear in iTunes? iPhone cannot sync with iTunes on PC or Mac? Cannot make or receive calls, send or receive text messages, or access email or the web? Or worse, iPhone simply won’t turn on and does not respond to tap or button press? If the problem still persists after you have reseted the iPhone, or tried various iPhone troubleshooting, it may be worthwhile to invoke recovery mode to restore iPhone to default factory settings, the original state as when you first received and unwrapped the phone.

Restoration of iPhone to original factory defaults will likely to fix all problem, with the downside that all data and information stored on your phone will be lost. Normally iTunes will make a backup automatically when you connect and sync the iPhone with the program, however, it’s still a good recommendation to copy out and backup everything that you may need on the phone before proceed to restore the iPhone.
To restore iPhone and reset the phone to default factory settings, follow these steps:
  1. Turn off iPhone - Hold down the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the red slider. Ignore this step if your iPhone is already off.
  2. Press and hold down the Home button for about 10 seconds until a yellow triangle with a text which says Please Connect to iTunes appears. iphone-recovery-mode.jpg
  3. Plug the iPhone into Mac or Windows PC. Release the button if you haven’t.
  4. Run and open iTunes if it’s not already opened yet.
  5. iTunes will prompt a message that says iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. Click OK.
  6. You will be taken to the iPhone pane. Then, click on Restore.
  7. Wait for the full restoration process to complete, and the iPhone will be back to the original settings state as when it left the manufacturing factory, typically a working phone again if you face any problem, unless it’s hardware related

My music shows up on my iphone only while connected to itunes.

Could be a bug in the jailbreak, I have seen this before. Restore the iPhone to original stock, locked software and re-jailbreak and unlock using the latest method from QuikPwn Dev Team. Once completed, it should resolve the issue.
