I'm seeing light-colored vertical bands, about 24" wide, scrolling across our picture from left to right. It takes about 2.5 seconds for them to get across the screen. There is no distortion to the picture, it's more or less a moving line - colors to the right of the line are lighter, and those to the left are darker in tint. This continues whenever the TV is on. What's going on?

Please press the WIDE button on the remote repeatedly to remote the Bands. If the issue persists, you may need to change the Aspect ratio to 4:3 on the Video source that you have connected to the TV. Check the link for more info:
needs a DM Board, prity easy to change yourself, if you order one, make sure you give them the version number off the Right side of the TV, will be somthing like SP01, To change - when you take the back off the tv, it will be on the left hand side, have to unplug 3 or 4 connectors, then take the plastic covering off, and it will slide out.
your set has convergence problems i dont have the answer yet ,i do know that convergence broad is not what is causing this! I have one in my shop now with same problem as soon as i find out problem i will post it !!!!!
That TV uses the PTK195 chassis, and the fact that you see only a thin line for each color near the bottom of the screen tells me your vertical output IC has stopped working, and is putting a small DC voltage across the yokes. I have seen this caused by a defective vertical output IC and I have also seen vertical problems caused by a small CRT coolant leak which drips onto the main board near the vertical output IC. If you do not have experience servicing the PTK195 chassis than have a qualified tech handle it for you.
could be vertical circuit problems (IC) also could be video problems. Probably gave some kind of indication of going out, most people look over it. Did you see at anytime your picture shrinking? Line always across(Thin and white color) Could be high voltage not coming up because some short.
