Re: no display or sound

Definitely looks like Poweer Supply problem. But as there is some display on the Front panel, It definitely is not the Power transformer. But it seems like some component in the Power Regulator circuit has either short-circuited, or has become open circuit. Nothing a layman can do.Seek professional advice. BTW, you hav not mentioned if any of the operations are functional (Play, REW, FF, etc)

My jWIN stereo is producing static on most of the radio stations. It was not doing this when I first starting using the stereo. What could be the issue? P.S. - This stereo system was purchased at Bed Bath...

many years ago they used tuning caps in these radios and the problem is dust... you need to blow the dust out of the radio using canned air or a compressor. after the cover has been removed you can blow off the components.....

I have a rca rs2640 stereo system. The display, cd player, tape player, radio, and headphone jack all work. But when a cd, tape, or radio is playing, the speakers do not make any sounds. I know it is...

It sounds like maybe you have speaker wires touching somewhere. If they are touching it will blow fuses, especially if you turn the volume up to try to hear anything. DO NOT put bigger fuses in to replace the old ones, you will actually do more damage to your system because a higher volt fuse will allow a higher voltage to "spike" in your stereo and might just start frying internal parts.

My RCA RS2622 sound stopped working.

I'll need to look up your specific model to be sure, but I believe that the speaker outputs come from an amp pac. The headphones are driven by an opamp IC. The outputs are blown on this. If you can solder, you should be able to repair this. I'll look up the parts required and get back to you.

Low Volume from right speaker of entertainment center - turntable only

Hi There thanks for your very good desctiption of the problem it really helps to have a lot of detail...

There are Mono and stereo types of stylis cartridges and it sounds like you have a mono equipped into a stereo amplifier..

If there are 4 small coloured wires visible under the stylis then
its a stereo stylis and should work, have a close look and maybe one of the small wires has dropped of the small pins on the back opf the stylis cartridge.

If there only two wires visible then its a mono cartridge and this is why you only have sound from one channel..

So answer is wires dropped of the stylis.
Wrong type of stylis cartridge.
if there are four wires and thay all look connected then perhaps the stylis is faulty and you need to replace it...

Sound Won't play

We had the same problem with our last rca stereo. I don't remember what model it was. My husband took it apart and found that there was and area on the circuit board that was fried. I don't know of any other solution then the one we chose. Trash it. I'm not expert but I would imagine that you could by a new stereo for the price of replacing that circuit board. Just don't buy an rca. They are junk. Our new rca just quit playing cds.

It definitely sounds like it took a surge. yhe Power Amop IC in those things are pretty sensitive. Any decent repair shop should be able to repair it for under $125.
