If you have a standing pilot then on your gas valve turn it to pilot. Push the button in on the gas valve in the pilot position. Hold for 60 to 120 seconds than release the button a turn to on and the furnace should fire up.

checked out

Ever change the trans fluid since it was new?

Doing it now won't help if debris froze up a valve
or temp switch in the valve body or the valve body
is worn or that model has issues that need to be updated

Have you checked the gas regulator? Sounds like it is fine until there is a bigger demand for gas and the regulator can't keep up. I've seen this on my propane grills. Give it a try and get back to me.
