Question about Audio & Video Receivers

1 Answer

I have a Bose Wave sound system with a five CD changer. The CD changer will not play, and it won't eject my CDs. This happened before, and Bose replaced the CD changer, but now it's happened again. How can I get out my CD?

There should be 4 screws on the side, 3 or 4 on the back, take those of an the cover should come off if it dont then theres a screw some were holding it down, when you get the cover off the cd should be plain as day

Bose Wave unplugged now it wont power up

The power supply and power regulation circuits on these particular models can be finicky and fail in various assorted manners, causing a no power up condition. This is not something an untrained person should attempt to repair. If there is a possibility that liquid seeped into the unit from a spill (common) then that can present its own set of problems. I want to hook my bose wave up so that I when I play my dvd player and tv the sound goes through the bose

Most Bose Wave players only have one set of input jacks. SO, you have 2 sources (the TV and the DVD) that you want to use. Well, you can plug in the one you want or buy a 2-way switch. You plug both sources into the switch and the output goes to the Bose. You hit AUX on the Bose or remote and you've got it. A local Radio Shack type place should be able to fix you up. Just tell them you need to connect 2 sources to one input - I'm assuming all have what are called RCA connectors on the sources - I know the Bose has them.

We have the RCA RS2767i Home Stereo with 5-disc changer and ipod dock. The CD Tray won't eject or shuffle...everything else works fine. It seems the disc tray isn't responding to anything. We read in the...

Let me respond with a possible solution although I'd bet that both of you already tried these.

The reason I checked into this is because I'm looking for a new mini system. I happen to be at Target and they only had 2 models - this one and a SONY. I certainly didn't want to buy the RCA given these problems, so I asked the salesperson, who seemed to have some knowlege.

As far as opening the tray on top, there is a button to push right under the tray. The button has an icon of a triangle on it. This seems to be somewhat of a standard icon for opening the tray or ejecting a CD (my car's CD has the same icon for ejecting a CD).

As far as only being able to get 3 CD's out, there is another button under the tray marked "disc skip". This rotates the tray. When you open the tray, you can only get to 3 of the CD's. When you push disk skip, it rotates the tray one position, so you can get the 4th one out. Another push and now you can get the 5th one.

Sometimes my CD changer doesn't shuffle the disks. If I only have 1 CD or DVD in it and push the tray open button, the disk stays in the unit and the tray revolves to an intermediate position. I push the button to put the tray back and try disc skip; that usually works.

If your problems are not solved per above, then I definitely do NOT want to get this.

I have a Pioneer CD player that is probably about twenty-five years old. It has a six CD holder that fits into the changer. This changer moves the CD's in and out of the player. You can play them in order...

It cycles through the CDs because it can not read any of them. The most common cause of this is the lens falling out. These players have the optics upside down. You load the CDs with the label down correct? The lens is probably floating around inside the unit. Sometimes you can reinstall the lens and the unit is OK. Please use a small amount of clear nail polish to "glue" the lens in place. Anything else will cloud up the lens making the unit junk. If that fails to resolve the problem, the unit may need a ribbon cable or just a complete alignment.

Good luck.

My stereo will not play any cds and displays changer error whenever I try to select a cd to play.

A mechanical problem is more than likely the culprit. This will involve opening 'er up to get the fix happening. If this is your first project, I strongly recommend a repair shop visit....accordianman
